....The Empire of Japan attacked the US fleet in the territory of Hawaii...which was a sovereign nation before the U.S. overthrew the sovereign government of the Kingdom of Hawaii......but that's another story.

Me too Dave.

One important thing to note is after the attack, hundreds and hundreds of local Japanese, Hawaiian and Filipinos went to inlist in the Navy, Army the next day. They were eventually allowed in the Army and formed the 442 infantry division. They faced intense discrimination and hatred by their own Army.

The 100/442 became THE most decorated/awarded division-unit in the history of the United States. These Americans are true heros of idea of the American melting pot. And by the way, they were feared and revered by the Germans for their bravery and "Go For Broke" dedication to their fight.

the major news sources neverveven mentioned it. we're consumed by more importantvthings like perverted teachers and politicians, jerusalem embassy's, Trumps speech being slurred etc. my dad (as so many fathers, brothers, mothers etc) fought for our great nation. lest we ever forget. our forefathers would be sickened by the crap going on now. they were truly the Greatest Generation and wecshall forever be endebted to them.

It is ironic that we discriminated against Japanese americans, but used a german american - named Eisenhower - to defeat the germans

Very sad, Dec 10, 1941

Bullet holes remain unrepaired as a reminder of that day in many of Hickam AFB buildings. The Arizona memorial weeps oil today. If you've never been there, it's a worthwhile visit.

Everybody buys Chinese stuff and they are more a threat now than Japan will ever be again.
Saw some BMW and Mercedes ads also, and I see real a$$holes driving those.
Heed the lessons of the past don't dwell on it.
