Of all the old cars I’ve owned, seems like rear window defrost, AC, then cruise are not working (in that order). My 78 NYB is only missing the working rear window defrost. The cruise, miraculously, works. Not only that, under the hood, it has a pile of new parts that appear to be cruise control.

On my 77 T&C, the rr does not work, nor does the cruise. AC is good.

Since I am restoring the T&C and NYB was just an opportunity to get my Mopar boat fix resolved, should I steal the parts off the NYB to restore the wagon? I assume it is like any other system to resolve what is not working and swap out parts - steering wheel swaps not withstanding....

I am guessing the parts are compatible. Given that, should I try and preserve the cruise on an old car or just let it be? Always figured the primitive technology was best left lying still.

These cruise control units were unreliable and a major pain to keep working. If you have one that works leave it alone and be happy. Rear window defrost is usually a bad relay, bad fuse, bad control or bad filament on the back window. Use a volt meter to see if you are getting power to the window and work back from there.

Funny... I hate CC... and so seldom use it IDK if it even works on the DD...

I do leave it there... because I prefer a stock appearance.
