A lot has happened in the past few months, life style changing choices were made, hopefully for the better. Everything was planed and it had to take place in order to be able to go to the next step. First the car was sold, then I applied for my SS, then a house had to be found in Batavia, NY in my price range close enough to my wife's kids in case help was needed to maintain her health when I finally go into the hospital for surgery.

My last day of work will be 10/11/2013 and we will be moving on the 14th. The move will lower my housing costs by $600.00 a month and I will build equity instead of just paying rent. The house is an older build but has been updated over the years and is in excellent condition. The down side is that it only has a 1 1/2 car garage but I guess that you can't have everything. If needed I can always find a part time job just to keep me from going stir crazy, I'm not much for sitting in one place looking at a wall.

Updates on the property include all new wiring and a 200 amp service, new high efficient furnace with electronic air filter and humidifier, new A/C, glass block windows in the basement, all new thermopane windows, both bathrooms were just redone (bath fitters), garage was built new a few years ago, rear deck was just built and its Trex and the house comes with all newer Whirlpool appliances. The house is dry and the basement is pretty nice in as much as it offers a good workshop area and it has a full walk up attic.

Congrats on everything falling into place.
Trust me, retirement is Utopia once you get over the intial lifestyle change. Trust me. It will sink in.
Love the house. Makes me nostalgic.
Enjoy and stay in good health.

Nice place. I put the same flooring in our kitchen a few years ago and it's worked out great.

Good luck on the retirement!

Nice setup Bob, i hope you enjoy the new place and manage to get yourself a new Mopar in the future, i was sad to see you sell the red beast.

You can't begin to understand just how much I miss that car. It came down to necessity in the end and although it was a very hard decision it had to be made.

Looks like things are on the upswing for you Red..... Great place.
Your gonna love retirement... I don't know how I ever had time for a job now. Doing what I want to do sure beats doing what someone else wanted me to do.

I can only guess at how much you miss the Monaco.... Your pride in the car was obvious. But there were a lot of C bodys built and I can see another one parked in that garage in the future...... Perhaps thats where the boards project car should go........?

OH...... Ellie says hey....

Congrats on the house, it looks like a great house in a nice neighborhood. I got to see your old car in person, Ross got a great car. Good luck with all the life changes. You sound like you are approaching everything with good planning and the right attitude. Good to hear from you.

Please tell Ellie I said hello, great lady! It would be very hard to replace that Monaco 500, driving that car elevated you to a place where the past became part of the drive, oldies, drive-ins and the chance to live a part of my life that somehow I had missed.

They will only be doing my right knee, if they lengthen it I will just go in circles...to the left!

Good hearing from you and thanks for the update. Sounds like you have everything under control and well planned. You new place looks great. Good that you've maintained your sense of humor. That will serve you in good stead when you recover from the surgery. Good luck with everything.
