I really loved starting out with rough hard woods and seeing them transformed into beautiful works of art including all of the in-lays and carvings. It was time consuming with some pieces taking 6 weeks or more to complete but the money was very good and my signed works were sold all over the country.
I got involved in this when I was doing Civil War living history in Gettysburg and portraying a well know Union General.
Eerie place. Eyes water up when the immensity of the carnage there really hits you.I've toured Gettysburg a couple of times in last year or so......always a pleasure and an honor to visit.
