I have a nice new set of 4 new tires someone gave me (long story), they are white lettered goodyear wrangler rt/s P235/75r15. Has anyone used this size or a similar size on their Fuselage body mopars? What range of size did these cars come stock with? What is a common size you guys are using? If I can use these tires it would be great. Free works for me. They would be going on my 70 Newport 2 door.

Factory size would have been H78-15
Outer Diameter is 28.36
The 2357515 Goodyear's are 28.9.
A wee bit taller but will work just fine.
Keep in mind the RT/S are a truck tire with a slightly more aggressive tread design compared to a passenger tire and may have more road noise.
Ride quality depends on how old the tires are since the RT/S have been discontinued for a while.
(I work at a Goodyear Dealer,BTW)
Road wheels were offered on the big C's and later on Cordoba's. They are like a smooth steel wheel with a center cap and trim ring.
Someone here will chime in and post a pic for you (I dont have any pics)

This might be a novice question but what are road wheels?
A factory wheel from 70 up. Very popular and very much desired Not reproduced.

Your Newport came out of the factory gates rolling on H78-15. That corresponds to 225/75-15, approximately. Optional size (standard on New Yorkers) was J78-15, which corresponds very close to 235/75-15. The widest tire in 1970 available to our cars was L78-15, which would be somewhere between 245/75-15 to 255/75-15. Standard tire was black wall, but most cars were sold with optional white walls, which on our cars was a thin twin stripe type, glass belted bias ply tire. - Very sharp looking tires they were, and absolutely detrimental to the driveability. Genuine movie tires, squealing at 30 mph - you get the picture. Their best feature was their quietness, which is the only feature I really miss. You can still have look-a-likes:

Formal C Cop cars got 2557015 which are 29.1 inches tall.
Recommend a 7 inch wide rim for optimum handling and ride.

I was never a fan of white letter tires, but those sure look good. Must be because of the car. '71 Sport Fury? Really nice.
RWL' s on four doors's are a no-no for me.
How many C's came from the factory like that. Very few.

I have that size tire with white stripe on both my cars 70 Polara convertible and 68 Monaco 500. Both ride great and no issues with fit.

Thanks for chiming in with that info!

That's what I'm going with on the rear wheels on my car.. I think Cs look better with a tall 70 series tire

If you're worried about the size, don't be. I'm running P235/60R/15 TA Radials on my Newport. A buddy ran 245s on his 300. Both have plenty of room to go larger. My plan is to go larger when my TAs are replaced.
