Tools need for metal work.

Not sure if your budget allows it, but when I did my 68 Firebird last year, I went ahead and bought a plasma cutter from Giant Tech. http://plasmametalcutter.com/index.php?cPath=22&osCsid=6jc9t6o6g8ubghiip63jk5nrg7 They have gone up a little since, think I paid $425 delivered for the red 50D, but I have used the crap outta of it. Once you get the hang of it, sure makes quick work of body panels, and gets into tight spots you can't get to with other cutting tools. Have used on it various other projects as well. You will also see your buddys hangin around more than you did before.

Absolutely.
I get over it quickly thinking about what I do have.
More than I deserve, actually...

Hope to start practicing spot welding this weekend. I tried to install the 50 amp breaker and welding receptacle yesterday, but forgot one thing.

I got several things that you guys recommended for Christmas and got a box of goodies this week from Eastwood.

I always think I'm going to have more timeover the holidays, but I've had lots of family and friends get together. Fortunately for me that's a good thing for the most part.

What kind of mig welder do you have Mike? If you don't have one with infinite settings you should consider upgrading if you're really serious about welding sheet metal and repairing rust. I won't go to H.F. At all, its usually not worth the aggravation.

I am new to all of this, I will be borrowing my cousins. It is a Lincoln SP-175 plus. I presume you mean the dial setting for the voltage and speed. It has those setting.

I have always wanted a plasma cutter for all sorts of reasons. I don't need it now for what I am doing, I can get to everything pretty easy, but I will have one some day.
