Anyone install a lokar kickdown cable? The transcooler lines are directly in the path of the cable from it's tiedown at the back of the trans to the kickdown lever. It's like lokar never had seen a trans with cooler lines. Am I supposed to just let it rub on the steel line? I would bend the line, but the cable is aimed directly thru the center of the inlet/outlet of the trans cooler fitting...

What size engine do you have, and 727 or 904 trans? Year and make also. Plus pictures. It is very hard to figure out when you cannot see the problem.

I'll get a picture later today, I have a 1966 Newport 383 with the 727 torqueflite. The small loop bracket that the braided stainless steel sleeve connects into on the back of the trans cover just happens to aim the cable directly at the cooler line. It's a perfect straight shot thru the center of inlet to the trans and there's less than an inch between the two. A picture or two will clear this up.

I put one on a Cuda for my customer a few years ago. I can't quite remember how things went but I know for sure it didn't rub on anything.

Here's a photo. I'm pretty sure it's a straight shot from the bracket that holds the sleeve to the kickdown lever. it just so happens that's right thru the middle of the trans cooler line.

From this photo it looks like routing above the cooler line might result in no contact but hard to say. I didn't have enough cable slack or time to try it out yet.

Here's a pic I found. Note angle fitting and type of lever. I also can't help but notice the angle of the cable... It's not a straight pull on the lever. Poor design.

I'd put a stock linkage on it.

Go above like the photo John posted. It may not be perfectly straight but it works quite well.
