Hi Everyone,

Our goal is to have our 1973 Town and Country tagged and street legal by the end of the year. One of the items on my list is repairing or replacing the missing transmission range (PRND21) indicator. I have never had one of these apart to see how they work -- could someone explain to me how they work and what I would need to do to repair or replace mine?

Thanks, C Family!

They're pretty simple. There's a flat level that hangs down below the indicator with a stud. That stud goes in to a tab on the shift lever. Screw on a nut and as you move the lever, the indicator moves.

BTW, where abouts in Balmer are you?

Here is the one on my 69, the different models/years may be different but the idea is the same.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I'm guessing mine has worked loose and is possibly down inside the housing, but in case I'm wrong and need to pick up a replacement, do you know if these are universal across the C line?

It appears to be a 69-73 Chrysler part, all others are different.

I bought one from a member here ( from a 70 Fury) and it was different in size and thickness. It would have fit but was not the same
