She just left yesterday to go into restoration but I got my hands on a 67 Fury III convertible 383 Auto with......13000 original miles! Barn find bonanza! Drove her home and squirreled funds for the restoration that should be done around April Fools day. Now paint was a problem, not original and not good. Previous owner painted RED with black interior and white top.Gonna keep with the red but swap for a black top. NO RUST, was on blocks in VT from what I was told. This is my first day finding this forum and dont know how to post pics. Please point me to any and all info on these at auction and what do you recommend me to do with her? I dont own a garage so this could well be leaving my hands within the year. Thanks, Jeff

The only way it will sell will be at half the money you totally invest into it.
That's C-body Rule #1.

Sell it now before they do any work on it to someone who would want it as a keeper and understands the economics.
This ain't a Chevy Donk.

We should start with pics, go down below this quick reply box and click on "go advanced" where you will find a place to fetch pics to upload. Stan's right though, you're not going to get rich off these cars and you should be grateful to just pay yourself back what you put into it. Labor of love, these cars.

Agreed, I just sent another check to the body shop last week. Makes me sick to my stomach. LOL

Jeff welcome aboard and please keep us posted on your progress. As Stan advises don't be deluded into believing that you will ever get your money out of a restoration.

Welcome to the site !! :3gears:

The C-Body is just like the other Sea-Bodies (BOAT) The two most widely-used sayings about boats are that they are "holes in the water, into which you throw money" and "the happiest day of a boat owner's life is the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it."

Best of luck with it what ever your plans are, Just a note as a dedicated C-Body owner unless the car is a totally worthless junk rust bucket please pass it on to someone who will appreciate it's beauty and worth.

Current Weather forecast: Partly cloudy, showers likely later on, followed by a cold front...

some pics

Here are a few before the restoration. did the pics upload?

Does any documentation come with the car that can confirm this low mileage; overall condition looks not bad but I've seen well cared cars with 100 k more that looked the same as far as can be told by pics. Not sure about the front seat pattern; isn't there some horizontal trim section along the upper seat in the Fury III bench, think some owners could chime in here for further info; no expert with these models.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Being a convertible, it's probably safe from the "Derby Guys". :)
It looks to be in nice shape.

A nice original documented car with that low mileage probably should most likely be left as is if you are looking to sell. I would think you will hurt the value by "restoring" it.

Wasn't the under hood area and firewall still body color in 67?

*edit* Nevermind... I saw the post about the repaint.... It may be hard to convince someone that the mileage is original... Things like underhood wiring, fan belts, missing splash guards, hoseclamps, engine parts.... ect, ect, ect.................

Beautiful car, congrats. As these guys already said though, don't get your hopes up about the value. You will spend more to restore it than it will be worth. Only restore it if you love the car & want to keep it. Otherwise, you may as well cut your losses now.

Yeah, yeah, I get it.......... It was never my happiest day to buy it however and sure wasnt happy when I sold it

I lost my boat in the divorce and it was actually the only part of the deal that I thought went my way.
