Tux has arrived

[Imperial One]

Congrats Jackson on buying my terrific old Imperial. You'll do a great job with it. Pictured below is the car last year when I took it our of storage after a few years. This photo was taken at Dave Wheeler's garage in Dutton, ON.

P.S. - Dave Wheeler (on left) is retiring at month's end after running the garage for something like 30 years. Dave regretfully lost his wife Barb recently and while he has been talking about retiring recently I imagine that Barb's passing accelerated his plans. Dave and I go way back, to 1980 or so, to the Mopar Muscle Club. Dave and I have always been C body fans and I entrusted a number of my cars to him over the years.

For Sale - 1973 Chrysler Imperial

3 hours washing, 3 hours clay bar rub down 5 hours polishing. Looking good, I went light on the polishing for first pass, hood got two passes with the polish as it looked like a pool table at a frat house.
Things I need are owners manual, head light dimmer switch, brake booster. I will be adding to the list. If any spectators have sources for the above list, please share.

Anytime! I went to the AMS location in Georgia and they have tons of c-body parts, plus they have a lot of the factory books, but some items can be pricey.

That Autotemp 2 module is the one that was manufactured out of Tennessee - I had bought one for my 1972 T&C way back in the mid 2000s. I recall they had a transferrable lifetime warranty, but that transferring it cost $75. This module got picked up by Mercedes in the 70s and so it was installed in many more of those than it was in Mopars, which also means they're easier to get service for.
The company is named Performance Analysis. The aluminum module was a massive improvement over the Bakelite original, maybe they still service them?

You are on the right path. When all else in terms of adjustments do not get them perfectly lined up, twist the bar until the doors are in line.

Patrick. Thats a great looking Imperial. At first I thought it was the one here.

I don't believe I have ever seen any Imperial loaded to the gills with options like that blue one - from dual auto temp II to a cassette player mounted to the console and more. Wow!!!

Beautiful colors too.

Went to a cruise night /show on Saturday, with fantastic night for weather and turn out at the show. I got there early to get a good spot, Tux was very popular with a freshly cleaned top and paint.
Saturday afternoon I spent 4.5 hrs cleaning the top, and then used Lucas Slick mist exterior Vinyl trim and tire care spray. I really hope it's a safe product. the lucas really pulled a lot more dirt off the top after I washed it gently with soft bristle brush in 16"x16" squares, using a mild Palmolive soap and water mix with sponge rinse. Two buckets of water for the rinsing sponge were black, then the Lucas after it all dried.
It looks great now.

Also I regaped the plugs, some a lil tight on gap. Then set the kick down linkage for proper pressure all the time, that made a great difference on throttle response and shifting, Then set timing to 36 total and 20 initial. Just need to decide on a wire set. I'd like a set of the Chrysler date codes, but still unsure of the warning that not to be used with electronic ignition. Research research.
