Hello!

Can anyone post a pic for me of the correct type screws to use on the cowl panel?

Thanks...

The #8x1/2" pan head Phillips (sheet metal) sounds about right. What is on our '66 Newport are plain silver, not cad, even when the car was 1 year old. I believe the same screws are on my '67 Newport, too. Perhaps other model years are different, within the #8x1/2" sheet metal thread spec?

For an idea of how that spec looks, there's a "Standard Parts" section of the Chrysler parts books. EACH of those screws/bolts/nuts had a factory part number. GM has similar things, too, but in a separate catalog. Only thing is that some of those fasteners had a minimum order quantity of 100!

Just some thoughts,

The phillips pan head SMS are readily available at most hardware stores. Buy 'em by the piece or by the box. I like to keep #s 6, 8, and 10 x 1/2 & 3/4" in stock.
More specialty screws such as trim screws I buy as needed.
I even found the exact screws to replace a few missing that hold my instrument cluster plastic trim to the dash - #8 oval head x 3/4"...and finished in black.
They also have stainless, chrome plated, various painted colors, cad plated, and natural aluminum of the same type here at my local Ace hardware.

As others have stated. 8 gauge by half inch done Phillips head. I can take a closer pic tomorrow if you need.

Thanks for all the replies! I SHOULD have mentioned that that the car is a '65 Fury III, sorry about that.

Is there a link to the "Standard Parts" section of a Chrysler parts book as mentioned above?
