Thought I'd post an update on the '67 New Yorker that recently joined my fleet..... this car has pretty much been as nice as advertised, and only some minor issues needed work before putting it on the road here.

Only real exterior issue was the grille, which while not apparent in the "before" photo (see the 3//4 front left) the grill was bent. We located a real clean/dry one from "out west" which was just installed. Headlights were cleaned up as well. Otherwise, there has been some minor brake work, new seals were taken care of along with painting the air cleaner.

Murray Park had a REAL nice front emblem at Carlisle (thanks Murray), which finished it off nicely, attached photo shows the end result. Also picked up a passenger side front mirror.

The new grill was just finished (see photo) and looks terrific. Remaining are a couple minor upholstery issues. Fortunately, fabric and vinyl are widely available, and muchmuch cheaper than the leather in my Imperial.

When you're used to world-wide, long-term and often costly searches for Imperial parts, C-body items are pretty easy to come by, which has been nice.

Picked up a set of NOS New Yorker hubcaps from someone on this list a couple weeks ago. These must have been a seldom-ordered, optional hubcap, as the only place I ever see them is in ads. Almost all the '67's you see have the "standard" hubcaps like the ones on it currently. Anyone else ever seen these? I like the "turbine look" and they have the New Yorker emblem on them also, although that seems to be on Newports too.

Anyway - it's nearing completion, almost done with the punchlist, and I hope to take it to a couple of shows in the not-distant future.

THANKS.

That New Yorker looks sharp in that photo, the wheels are great. Love the guy hiding under the dock from his wife. I don't think that ad would ever happen today. Still chuckling over it.

That's a beautiful New Yorker. I've always been a fan of that deep dish wheel cover I have one hanging up in my basement. Have owned 3 67 Chrysler's in the past 2 Newport sedans and a Newport Custom hardtop. Great cars. Best of luck with yours!!
