Upset:

Oh man...

Readings the posts on this thread is heartbreaking and causing me to have a flashback. I've told my family stories throughout the years here on FCBO...

Same ****......

If you want to see what these kids will look and act like in 50 years... I can take you to Milwaukee to visit my siblings (the ones still alive or barely alive). My family could put Jerry Springer out of business. They make Trailer Park Boys look like Rhodes scholars. I wasn't sure retiring from the Army 900 miles from home was far enough away.....I almost retired in Germany!

I am am so upset at my nephew right now. I got him a job working at our aircraft plant doing some light maintenance jobs. He was just fired for calling in too many times. What the hell is wrong with the younger generation? All he had to do is show up. Hell, I even drove him to work when he came in. Try to help family and some **** on you. Dammit.:BangHead:

I feel your pain, Dave. I have a couple of folks in my section at work who really don't get it either. They usually show up - eventually - and they do ok, once they have arrived, but they just have no clue that it is important to come in on time.

I often remind them of what Woody Allen said: "Showing up is 80% of life."

I'm not getting through, though. . .

I don't get it either. There are just lazy people. I have a half brother that I could keep busy all year round, but he lives at home with my step dad who pays all the utilities. All he does is mow the yard in the summer time and that is it. He makes enough to pay his cell phone bill and a car that he bought off his dad (which he will eventually start missing payments).

AND HE IS 40!

It seems that I am not alone, and that really sucks.

Yea that is what sucks and my step dad was a hard worker, so was my mom. He had good examples, hell he had me too, I am 9 years older and worked hard for everything I have.

I took my younger son and his friend to a jobs fair yesterday, to help them find something that isn't complete crap for a job. They went prepared, to an extent, as this was their first job fair. I was proud of them both; they were very respectful to everyone they spoke to, spoke well, and had plenty of good questions for the potential employers.

No, you aren't alone. Everyone has someone in their life that can't seem to figure it out. Most of us (myself included) have needed a kick in the *** at some point in their life... but we have gotten our act together and done alright. My two sons are doing quite well. The oldest is top salesman in the northeast for the place he works. My youngest has his own pizza shop in a local mall. My step kids have done well for themselves too. It took a while for some of them to see the light, but they have all been successful.

Right now, I have a son inlaw (step daughter's husband) that has turned out to be pretty worthless. He's a restaurant manager that has been fired or quit every job he has had within a year. He's at Applebees now... I expect that will end shortly.

As I write this.... Mrs. Big John just told me that this ******* won't go to the school with my grand daughter for "father-daughter" day. He has that day off too... so there's no excuse. I'm quite pissed....

The 70'second sure effed up enough of us that we didn't raise our own properly.
We swore we knew what was right but time has proven us wrong.
One mother actually smacks her kid participating in the Baltimore riot and she makes national headlines. Why wasn't every kid out there getting smacked upside the head hard?
