Using OBD to power a dash cam

Has anyone here used, or knows about using this adapter to get power for your camera? It gives the benefit of the hardwire installation (parking mode), but allows easy transfer between vehicles, even the abilty to use it in a rental. @Dobalovr , would this have any repercussions from FCA?
