So I got the Old intake and carb off my 383 . do I need to replace that nasty Insulation that was under the intake?

Just ordered the new valleypan.

:yaayy:

I didn't put one in when I installed the eddie manifold.

You can make your own very easily, and on the cheap. Few pieces of aluminum foil, and some basic home fiberglass wall insulation. I've built a few over the years this way and never had a problem.

Edelbrock makes a heat shield carb spacer (eddie 9266) to prevent percolation of the carb for extreme underhood heat problems. The installation directions also references removing the 2732 eddie plate (that I was talking about when installing an eddie carb to an eddie manifold in a previous thread). Adds minimal height but still should have adequate hood clearance.

I threw mine away when I didnt know what it was and have been running without since with no problems, but our outside temps in New Zealand dont get as hot as some parts of the US

Didnt realize that the carb didnt come with and bolts to bolt it to the manifold. 1406 edelbrock on to a 2186 edelbrock manifold 383 6.3 litre. anyone know what bolts to use i looked everywhere on the net. unreal 300 carb but no bolts.. :mad_6:
