Floor shifter....really? Ugh.

i like the car. I agree though, these cars on ebay have a outlandish reserves and bids quite often. They sell, then mysteriously pop back up. I smell scam.

How else are you going to retain auto stick feature?

These cars are just so rare, it pains me to see one customized to this extent. There's nothing wrong with the original 727 TorqueFlite push button configuration. I actually think customizing it like this devalues the car. I don't believe for a minute the bidders are real.

There would be a lot wrong with it having an "original 727 torqueflite" since they weren't made until 1962.
The cast iron, push button torqueflite is a A-466

Some sick puppy must have come up with that engine conversion. ;)

I am a purist like most of you guys too, but I can also appreciate why someone would do such a conversion. At least it was all done to a very high standard it appears...........

I think the floorshifter detracts a bit too, but whoever did it looks like they put pride in it. That's not even a 4-speed TF, it looks like the 5-speed version that comes with a Hemi, and one with the yoke sticking out a little too far for a car sitting on its wheels, too.

IMHO the bidder could be an amateur that's probing to see where the reserve is? It used to be easier to figure all that stuff out before ebay starting protecting bidder's ID names, though.

He was 95% there and he fell down in the last mile. Shame.

That's a very tough dash to add universal aftermarket A/C outlets to.
And it didn't work well.

Even if this car was given to me, this would be all I could see.
