There will be plenty more available.....
You are right, I probably shouldn't even be looking yet. Like most everyone else, I am working to liquidate the projects and parts I don't want anymore, and that takes time. Then, get one really nice unrestored or restored C body Hardtop, A Monaco, Fury or New Yorker, 66-73 with Nothing needed to do, but drive it. The C bodies have been selling well lately, I guess that is a good thing.

My Fusie Imp remains elusive....I'll get it one these days.

Now that is nice. Then I am not the only one cursed with the memory of one that got away?
it makes no sense, but I picture the car in my head every day. Just assigned back to the states in May 1974, A B-52 pilot was selling his 68' New Yorker he bought new. 440 Magnum, two door hardtop, four speed, console,Tach, Dana 60,loaded with 40k on the speedo. Green, Green, Green. Minot federal was stingy to first Termers, and wouldn't loan on a car for a period longer than your enlistment, and Then for only 70% of the price. No loan, no car. I have not seen another one since then. I have been watching for 40 years. I look at the other C bodies hoping to forget about that New Yorker. it doesn't happen. A Sickness or what? I'll quit whining now. Lol

From what I saw, yes. it also had a factory tow package. I was surprised to see the Dana , and My Brother was a service manager at a dodge dealer in 68', and confirmed it was an available option on a C body when ordering the four speed. I wanted to go see it again to verify everything, and it was gone, as was the Owner. maybe the Tow package and Disc brakes had something to do with it . The car was unbelievable. I thought it was a dog, until I shifted out of third and noticed I was over 110 mph. That car was so smooth I didn't notice the speed. I about pooped. I am still mad I couldn't come up with another plan. The owner stated he ordered absolutely every option he could high performance for the car. I know the 9 1/4 was available in the C Bodies.(Imperial) I have looked thru all the service manuals for those years, and the 9 1/4 shows up. But they don't say a 60 wasn't Installed. Anyway, I was able to find the same car as a Newport for less then half the price, and drove that car for five years. But is just wasn't the same.

Thinking of that car again, I had to look through 66-69 Chrysler parts books to be sure, and there is no reference to any available parts for the Dana 60 in the C Body. . So I will stand and correct myself, in that I'm sure what I saw was the 9 1/4, which is a serviceable Differential for the 68 C Bodies. Sorry about that. Some day one of those have to show up somewhere, Maybe?

It is your Guys fault. it is like thinking of your best girl in 1970. I have decided to renew my search. I will find one of those, I will even sell my 67' 440 Magnum Newport if necessary.
Seeing all the fine C bodies on this site reminds me of how much I like them. I drove a 71' New Yorker over 80,000 miles in five years, many miles pulling a 68' Charger around the country on a tow bar.(1984-92) That 440 would climb to Flagstaff like nothing was behind it. Around the country we went, moving several times.
Quite a car it was.
