Vintage Trailer Parks

Thanks Stan, for starting this. I enjoyed going back into my picture file.
Great to see you and Pamela getting out and enjoying life.

I grew up in Boston, more specifically in West Roxbury, a Boston neighborhood.
On the banks of the Charles River is a trailer park nestled among tall, mature trees that goes back to WW II. A true vintage postcard image. Growing up, I remember it was remote, hidden from civilization, and the residents lived a remarkably simple life. And it was in BOSTON, of all places.
Over the years, it was bought by many developers wanting to turn the park into commercial development but the park residents kept fighting in court to prevent their eviction. Finally, Mayor Menino stepped in and provided the park with a Charter to protect the park in perpetuity.
It's that old park that made me learn and appreciate the role of Trailer Parks in American Culture.

1973. Last trip for this trailer. Just mom and dad on this vacation back east. Dad decided setting up the trailer isn't so much fun when your five boys aren't around to help. Plus mom was kind of creeped-out here. They were the lone trailer in a campground somewhere in CT.
