water pumps for big blocks

anyways yes this is a mild street cruiser nothing more.
im more concerned with the alum water pump and it staying together/durability And the claims of 30% more flow.
i was hoping someone had bought one of these and had some exp with them.
my initial plan was to install the alum water pump and get rid of the fan and install electric w a shroud.

the alum housing i wasnt sure about at all,durability and sealwise,
wasnt even sure that was a wise move to install.
i appreciate everyones advice and thanks to all who reply.
 
I think the crux of the argument is the housing not the pump.

You did fine. There's a zine article floating around showing flow rates from a wide variuety of pumps, from old MoPar OEM stuff to pricey Eddy Brock to middlin stuff like my Gates. Upshot was "Its all good" as I recall, w surprising good show for the Old Stuff.
