We have lost Rip

This has been a devastating time for me. First the loss of @LocuMob and now @Ripinator. When I lost my mom the first of Dec. Rip was one of the first members to reach out to me. That's the kind of guy you are lucky to have as a friend. I first met Rip at My first trip to Carlisle in 2020. We would cross paths at Carlisle many times in the years following. Rip was always a first class guy w/ a integrity befitting him. My deepest condolences to his son Jeff and his family.

Next to me at Carlisle..I really enjoyed his company

Sad news indeed. Even though I never met RIP in person, I felt I knew him very well as he often ribbed me good naturedly about many things I posted. He seemed like a really friendly and happy guy. At least his battle with cancer is over and I trust he is now in a much better place where he will be welcomed whole heartedly. RIP my friend..........

My deepest condolences to the family.
@Ripinator was a class act, and always seemed to live his life to the fullest.
Sad news we lost another good guy.

From 2020 Carlisle. Rip is the "old man with a hat" right in the middle.

Scott @LocuMob is standing to Rip's right, and seen three people to his left in the photo. Two friends lost in just a few weeks, who were great contributors to this site.

Here is a 2016 photo from Carlisle, showing Rip with his trademark hat. Paging all the folks who are in the photo and @commando1

I Met RIP several times at carlisle since 2020. Great guy.
Rest In Peace
Condolences to his family.

Wow, this is another blow.

I met Carroll back at Carlisle in '23, he was the first new-to-me FCBO guy that I met at the show, and ended up spending a lot of quality time with him, walking around, hanging out in his tent, and we grabbed lunch together both days too. A true gentleman. I was looking forward to seeing him there this summer, this is very sad to hear.

Condolences to his family.

My first post was simply a guy reaction. The first year I came to Carlisle I had Olivia (8) and Aaron(6) with me. Rip engaged with the kids and made all of us feel welcome. That night we went to dinner with him, Jer (bigbarneycars), 75landyatch, and some others. They all were great about making sure the kids enjoyed themselves.

This spirit of friendship is what makes this site great and challenging when we lose one of our own.

I pray that Rip's wife and son feel the peace of Jesus in this challenging time.
John

So sorry to here this. I met him in-person at Carlisle and he is one of the guys that reached out to me and really made me feel welcome. We had connection with the restoration of our slab sided 300s.

I still owe him a beer or 2 for sending me NOS points and condenser. He would not take any money of them. I went through 3 new sets in 1 and 1/2 years. His set is still in Goldie 10+ years later.

Condolences to his family. Peace to you Rip.
