I am the original owner of a 1970 polara convertible burnt orange black and black. 383 automatic. It has won many trophies over the years at Mopar shows. I was reading the last of the convertibles thread and may have a contender. When it was bought we were told it was the last full sized dodge convertible built or sold. It was built on June 25 1970.We bought her in August of 1970 in Somerville Ma. In 2020 I have a hard time believing it will be 50 years in my garage. I am working on a side by side photo from day 1 to today in the same driveway with the same plates.

Welcome from NJ. Cool story, can't wait to see some pictures of your Dodge, sounds like it's a real beauty.

Welcome from sunny California. Love to see what it looks like. Must be a stunner in that color.

Welcome! Fantastic news -- as your car is the last built (thanks to a post by @polara71, I am aware of another one built the same day, June 25 1970: 1970 Dodge Polara Convertibles -- but that one is now in Denmark, leaving yours as the youngest known Polara 'vert left stateside), it will be great to read more about it!

Look forward to the pictures and the story!

Welcome Bill, I have a few photos of your car or what I believe to be your car. I never could get a back story on her. I look forward to seeing the complete story .

I will post the numbers soon I finally got rid of my flip phone and took some pictures today. The only reason I was fairly certain it was the last one was because my grandfathers best friend was a gentleman named Joe Rose. He was in charge of Desoto in the 50's here in Boston. When he retired from Desoto in 61 (we all know why) they made him a goodwill ambassador for Dodge. He claimed this car was the last one and only one left for sale and shipped it to Mass. for my dad. This was pretty much confirmed about 10 years ago when a gentleman approached me at a local show and asked me if it came from Porter Square dodge when new. I said yes and was told he prepped it for delivery and did I know it was the last one built. He told me it was signed by the builders in yellow crayon but Joe Rose said to clean it all off. I wish they taken a picture to prove it. I have no record of his claim. The only body work ever done to it was to replace the lower rear quarters with replacements from a place called Bills speed shop. They were not the right shape but I was stuck with them. I plan on doing the quarters again properly some day. I just have too much fun driving it and 99% of people don't know the difference.

Thanks
Bill

The other 1% are all here, but don't worry -- IMHO, what matters is that your Dad and you have been taking care of this car since day 1, and that you continue to enjoy it. Can't wait to see/read more. Cheers!

Thanks one of the pictures is my Polara it is still garaged in Mass. I am great with cars terrible with computers and Tech. Bear with me while I figure out how to post the pictures. Are we allowed to post videos as I do have one on my laptop.
Thanks
Bill

Bill (if I may): is this your car in the two pics below? I believe that the first is for sure, but the second is a guess based on location.

PS: Here is the other car built on 6-25, in Scandinavia in 2016 (with road wheels) and in 2019 (with modern wheels).

Welcome from Illinois! AWESOME! Looking forward to the story and pictures! I know of an FK5 vert in an abandoned building in Rockford IL. Trying to track it down and find out if it's a myth or not.

Beautiful car. Hope to see it in person one day, I know of 3 rag tops that SHOULD be attending Carlisle in July for the celebration of 1970. Hope you can make it down!
