My first car was a 1973 Chrysler Newport Custom 2 door. I have owned primarily GM products since, but that big Mopar always had a special place in my heart and memories. In 2006, I decided to try and find my old car. I was not successful. It hadn't been registered in years, and I later found out it had been sold for scrap. So, I began a journey of looking for one like it. I found a few, but only one identical. It was at a custom car dealer in Oregon. I called, and it had just been sold. In 2009, I found another nice base coupe in North Dakota, drug my heels and missed it too. I was able to keep up with it's location through five subsequent owners. In December of 2017, I finally bought it. It was in horrible condition, but it has been a labor of love. I am making it better than it was new.
