Welcome, essextiger

THANK YOU to all of you guys for welcoming me. I'm a native of Minnesota, where I bought my first 68 Polara sedan at 16 years of age. Ran it wild on the gravel roads in my rural environs. Now, I'm in DC. I've got a 67 Polara sedan in a little better shape than my 68 ditch runner. Happy to be here, and I appreciate all of YOU.

Welcome from North Dakota
I too grew up with a ‘68 Polara that I managed to keep over the years.

Belated welcome! There are a number of members in DC proper or in the greater Washington area. Some of the most active, who not only post here but also join in local car runs, include @Imperialist67 @Imps Rule @Ripinator @Analog Kid @Michael McCoy (who heads the local CPOC) and @1978 NYB (who greeted you last week).

There are some local shows coming up, such as Sully near Dulles airport on June 19. You can see some of the cars here.

PS: To the list of local members that I mentioned above, I'll add @Boomer in Arlington, VA; @Newport Man in Silver Spring and @Dillon in Springfield, VA (both just outside the Beltway); @Copper1982 in Woodbridge and @Jim 68cuda in Berryville near Sterling, VA; and @FlintlockDave and @Walter Joy a bit further away in MD.

PPS: @essextiger -- I've started a thread for the Sully meet on June 19. If you don't have a car ready, I am sure that we can arrange things and you can join in one of the folks attending's cars.

Welcome from (right here) the Nation's Capital, where there is actually a pretty good arrangement for registering historic cars. If you need help with it, let me know.
