Thanks to all. I’ve posted my ‘71 Newport in “The Fuselage Years” section and gotten great responses. Thanks again. The first car I ever drove was my Dad’s ‘64 LeSabre with a 300(?) nailhead. Instead of trading it in on his next new car, it was going to be mine. So this high school kid got a 4 year old 4 door sedan and it was great. Normally Dad would have gotten another Buick but back when he bought the ‘64 he came away unhappy with the salesman and the deal he got. So I guess he went looking for something else and in late ‘68 when the new models came out, he bought a new ‘69 Newport. He made the mistake of letting me drive it a couple of times and I was hooked. The difference between the nailhead and the 383 about made my eyes pop out of my head. The rest as they say is history.
