New to the MOPAR scene....been looking for my own piece of classic American muscle since I moved to the US 21 years ago. I got past my initial desire for one of the more well known '60's muscle cars after developing a love for these full sized beasts. Just picked up a 1969 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible. Little rough around the edges but runs like a champ. After lurking on this site for some time...all the great info and expert knowledge on here...looking forward to getting involved in the community.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Hello from Minnesota. Pictures are good.

I recently joined up and really like it here.Lots of knowledgeable Mopar heads here who are happy to share what they know.

Hey all....thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry for delay, I was away for a couple of days...up the hills, no computer, limited phone connection...and relax!!! Anyway...pictures:-

As you can see, its a '69 Sport Fury...paint a little rough...rust/bondo on lower rear quarters, dutchman panel is rough, top ripped up, trunk floor is, well, as you would expect....but...it's mine!!

According to Fender plate its a Factory 383, Disc Brake, AC car. And on inspection...that stuff is all still there.

Biggest issue is that it has a Salvage Title!!!

I know...big red flag. But, checked with Highway patrol..no records of it being stolen, it has registration and title, was insured with Hagerty - all checked out and verified before I purchased. I'm no expert but car looks unmolested..if there was a big repair etc...I have yet to see any signs.
Story was it was a barn find, fell out of DMV prior to '81....yeah...not 100% confident in that story myself, but took the chance.
I know its a bit of a risk...but for me, I'm fine with that. My budget is VERY small, I'm not looking at this as an investment, and it puts a 383 C-Body convertible in my garage that I can work on and enjoy. It's going to take me a long time for me to get this looking really clean...but in the mean time, I can drive it, work on it and...as has happened every day since I got it....just go into my garage to admire the thing!!
I've got time...while tinkering with it I'm going to try do whatever research I can to see if I can dig up its history. Don't hold much hope of getting a lot of info, will probably get none, but, should be an interesting journey.

Thanks
