What are you working on today??

Nicer than some peoples houses!

I thought that stuff was not allowed in Kalifornia anymore?

Haha, pig barns and pigs are still legal. This HS has quite an active ag program. The pigs are born in March and raised by the kids and then taken to the Mid State Fair in July.
Since this is an agricultural project we didn't have to go through the state architect for review, and could be a lot simpler with lighting controls.

All 3 of my sisters kids raised meat goats in Santa Paula and the goats were auctioned off at the Ventura County Fair. Her oldest received grand champion her last year of competition.

I made my nieces cry when I told them that I would buy their goats and then invite them over for a bbq.

Good times!

My sister, her husband and their children all have since escaped from Kalifornia.

I am glad that you were able to skip the bureaucracy for the pig house.

Since you guys are talking about high school.... My son sent me these pics from open house at my grand-daughter's vocational school. She's taking welding classes and he says that her other grades are up now because she's not as bored.

Got the Barracuda covered today. I have the skates under the tires, so it got pushed over enough to get the snowblower in and out... Still have to sweep up the mess and leaves that have blown in, but tomorrows another day.

When we were in high school in horseheads, 77-80, we had B.O.C.E.S as our votech school, I dont know if thats similar to her vocational school or not. Lots of future techs were produced from our experiance.

I shifted gears today and looked into why the bucket control in Lucifer (our International Harvester model 666) would only work in one direction
I got the valves apart and didn’t see anything wrong. More investigation and a call to a local tractor supply house to come.

I had R.O.P. (Regional Occupation Program) in high school. I took an ir conditioning and refrigeration class and it was awesome.
I did a machine shop class called "Machine Tool Technology" in my vo-tech high school. The high school was kind of rough... an education in itself. I'd walk over to the tech building right behind the high school and it was a different world. I really enjoyed spending half my day in the tech building.

My shop teacher even got us all jobs when we graduated. He got me a second job when the first one didn't work out... I stayed there for 20 years.

Yep, that is a BOCES votech school.
Had good times there, I did automotive repair, had a buddy took auto body, we were going to start a business, never happened! One brother took welding, another auto repair, another took ag class'and my sister took nursing. Im the only one that persude my choice, until I got into HVAC about 30 yrs ago.

Putting on a spare Eddy 700 to my 383. It has a double pumper on it now that is overkill. 1966 TC.
On my 1962, Im tuning it up with new plugs and points, etc. 413 mill.

A somewhat light day, but among some other stuff, cleaning and shining radiator caps, then coating with catalyzed clear. Eight are from cars. The rest are spares. This is the first batch, there's another batch of a dozen to do, and few more being skipped.

I picked up the rear doors and front fenders that I had refinished. The existing doors and fenders had rust in the lower corners on all of them.

I think the color match came out great.

wondering if this is OK, much like 65 Coronet, but, the rubber shield cost $40.00, just stuck this foam inside to block off the space. comments?

I finally got Lucifer (our I-H model 666) operating. I thought that the control valve was not working and it turned out to be a quick disconnect being loose. I had disassembled the valves, lost a ball bearing and one of the valves had a bent shaft. So, I had to buy two good used valves. For the past 3 days, I was struggling with getting one of the hydraulic lines attached and it finally happened today.

Here’s a video of the bucket swinging:

I am slowly getting some pieces cleaned up - lower crash bar and attaching brackets. We had about 4” of snow over the weekend so I also cleared the apron outside the garage and enough of the driveway (about 0.2 miles) so my brother in law and his wife could head home.

I decided to install the air dam on the front bumper. The ‘new’ bumper didn’t have the mounting provisions for the air dam. So, I matched up what I could and drilled holes where the fasteners needed to go. The ends didn’t have the material to attach the air dam, so I made two brackets from angle iron, put a bend on one end, welded the gap caused by the bend, painted them and attached them to the bumper using pop rivets.
