Not sure if there’s already a thread on this - but what kind of things like fusibles, coolant and sockets do you keep in your C Body everyday while on the road?

It all depends on how far you travel and how the car has been treating you. If it is in good shape you don’t need to carry much at all

Every vehicle - 1 quart oil, 1 quart trans (if auto), 1 bottle of water
Old cars - every thing above plus a decent sized fire extinguisher, and tool box for trips over ~30 minutes away.

Fire extinguisher, engine oil, trans fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, flashlight, fsm, complete tool kit, fuel pump pushrod(not kidding, once bitten...), marine 2-cycle(use at every fill-up). I also keep a spare points distributor in case my Pertronix should fail and I also have spare v-belts. Keep in mind up until this year we would take this car on long road trips. This year I was too busy with work to get some maintenance issues taken care of such as getting the radiator re-cored.

A plastic Jesus on the dashboard.
My mother gave to me when I got my first car over 50 years ago.
Must have worked. I'm still here.

Motor oil, transmission fluid, spare belts, various basic tools, points, condenser, rebuilt starter and alternator, bottle of water.

Basic hand tools, socket set, oil, brake fluid...maybe "Slime" tire inflator (inflates tire within 2 min) tire jack in custom plastic tote box, jumper pack and cables, fluorescent reflective vest and red flashing light. An member of a auto club also.

I should also mention the 2 times I’ve really needed anything I just called Hagerty.

I have a 3/8 socket set, combination wrenches, screwdriver with interchangeable tips, small hammer, 4 way lug wrench, duct tape, a few feet electrical wire, vise grips, crescent wrench, empty gallon jug, ballast resistor, ECU, fuses, cheap DMM, oil and trans fluid. Probably a few things I'm forgetting... I carry that (except for the 4 way and the gallon jug) in an old beer crate along with my detailing stuff.

Oh.... and a cell phone and AAA card.

Harbor Fright is your friend for emergency tools.

I trust my well maintained cars. Nothing but the Tools that came with the car from the factory. Never got into a spot to ever use anything under way. Once stranded with a dead ignition Computer for my 82 BMW, nothing I could have done except carrying a spare 900 Euro part around with me all the time and ended up being pulled home with a rope by a supposedly drunk serviceman from an Autoclub at 60+ mph.

The tools in the trunk of my 300 have been used a few times, but not on my car.... They have been used on someone else's car. My spare tire even went on a 34 Dodge street rod once.

How do you all keep it from shifting around in the trunk? When i drive it slides from one side to the other o_o
