Scenario: Shop takes car apart. Person who mainly took car apart no longer works there. Shop is charging $50.00 per hour to put "said" car back together; however, it's taking longer to put car together because they have never worked on the kind of "said" car before. Hence, it is taking longer and I am being charged more.
Dilemma: Do I advertise on "forcbodiesonly" for someone to come down here to put car back together for a reasonable price which would include airfare, room and meals (my house of course)?
Work required would be put rebuilt engine back in...sort of. It's already back in but nothing else. Ohhh and there is all that wiring.
Hmmm?

The wiring and buttoning up the engine is simple, especially with a shop manual. I vote for just doing it yourself.

Yeah, Really. Motor's already sitting between the frame rails? Absolutely get yourself an FSM, and maybe a Chiltons as secondary reference source, a bottomless drink and get at it.

1) Get the car out of there.
2) As suggested plunk away at re-assembly with an FSM and the sage C body knowledge of the Council.... Or the Lean Burn Technologies staff...whatever you want to call us.
At least it won't cost $$$ as you get the car on the road again.

Bottomless drink? You mean water or something stronger? If you mean something stronger then I will have to bring a cot and more money...I'm a Texas girl who can put that stuff down. Poor, poor liver. I agree..I should try to do this. So what if I put the alternator where the water pump should be. I can drill new holes. LOL (Just joking....don't freak)

Okaaa. Please excuse my ignorance or the fact that I had minor surgery today. I giggled for the first time in a long time...I even snorted. I'm thinking FSM stands for "former shady mechanic"....well...not really "former". I also invisioned the "council" in tights. Lean Burn Technologies staff as "LBT"...lettuce, bacon and tomato. Anyway...ya'll are special. (not short bus special) Gonna get the car to the upholstery guy then brought back home. I'll let ya'll know what I need from ya'll after that. You guys are awesome....even if I'm loopy.

Request photos of the various areas of your car from members here who have similar cars. Good close ups of under hood, interior, wire routing etc will be a big help with reassembly..... Then you'll discover all the fun that can be had doing the project yourself.

I would love to do it for you at the point your at with it. The hard part is done. It's therapy to me. A little buzz .... a little music ..... next think you know it's 4 am.

To funny! Well, we are not in Colorado or Washington but I have lots of 60's 70's music and lately...I don't go to sleep until 1am

I bet it'd be a whole lot of fun, I wish I could drop everything and come lend a hand but damn I am busy up here! I am so sick of winter, how's the weather down there?.....

VERy Therapeutic it certainly is, agreed. Entire day can go by in my garage and only feels like 1/2 hour.

Was in the 70's yesterday with clear skies. Today should be the same.
