Well, my hood release cable snapped at the hood latch on my 1978 NYB. I can see that this is going to be a fun replacement. I was wondering what everyone else was using to lubricate the hood latch assembly and hood release cable.

I've been swearing by this stuff for years.

And it won't dirty your pant leg.

Last can I bought was from a store but dammit I can't remember where.
Wally world??
Actually any lube called Chain Lube will do. That just so happens to be the one on my shelf now.

Looks like I can get it from Amazon or Eastwood.

Just plain ole white lith always works for me. I lube all my latches with it. You can find it at any parts store or hardware store. Long lasting and clean too.

I have been using white lithium for a lot of stuff the last few years myself. Chain lube like Stan mentions works very well also, I use it on things on the camper and those lubed parts accumulate less dirt that way.
