Where Do You Guys Get New Replacement Brake Rotors for the 69 - 72 Fuselage C Bodies?

Yes, that is the general rotor that my friends are looking for Trev. I did some more investigation into the options on the Rock Auto website and found that as discussed above the Raybestos 7018 should not be an option there for 1969 - 1972 early cars, and the 7012R one is N/A, but I also looked up on the AC Delco website and found that the one listed on Rock Auto is also probably wrong since AC Delco says the rotor shown is for 1971 -1973 Chryslers and for other 73 and up Chrysler products. So they have it wrong too. And Wagner's website shows a 2 piece available, but when I called Wagner, they said it is discontinued. So I suspect you will not be able to find two piece rotors any more that are new unless they are NOS ones.

I also looked up on the Centric website the applications for their rotor shown on Rock Auto for the 69-72 Chryslers and they properly distinguish between the 69-72 and 73 and up part numbers.

So it looks like the only way I know of at present to get the proper 1 piece rotors is to order the Centric one piece rotor from Rock Auto - p/n 12163021 or the same number from Ebay. The Centric correct one piece rotor for 73 and up is 12167000. Raybestos and AC Delco don't have it right. So the Chinese are more knowledgeable about our old cars than the U.S. manufacturers. No wonder we keep losing to them. :BangHead:

Good work Steve! I hear you regarding having/buying US parts. I paid $117 for each rotor, but they are Kelsey-Hayes made in Romulus MI. And they are NOS. Better than a RockAuto Asian maybe fit, maybe not.

For what it’s worth, there is an NOS set of original MoPar factory rotors available for $895 for a pair....too much for me though....

Good luck - personally, I don't even like the idea of that Dr Diff sleeve, though many use that part he sells - it just seems too flimsy in my opinion. However, I'd like to hear what others say about that.

A tiny little sleeve to make something wrong usable.... Maybe on a 1500 pound VW dune buggy...
But on a 5000 pound Majestic Machine??????
Not for anyone intelligent, I know!!!!!!!!
Just saying.......

I'd be surprised if chrome moly wasn't a superior material to what the spindle is made from. It's a press fit with a slight shoulder by all appearances so it can't go anywhere.

I recently purchased the Centric rotors mentioned by Steve, (part# 12163021) and measured the inner and outer.
I'm not aware of the inside diameter for the '73 rotors from Centric (part# 12167000), but in either case I think they would both need the sleeve, but I'm not 100% certain on that. I wouldn't trust a $4 sleeve.
I took measurements of the Centric rotors,(1000/in.) as seen here, to share and maybe to help with deciding on which re-pop rotor with work best for your car.

Hi

I know this rotor will work , I am them on my 1968 Monaco , they are a A6 inside bearing and a A2 outside bearing , I believe the 1973 is a A17 inside bearing and the same outside bearing , you could take that centric rotor to a machine shop and have the inside bearing race machined to accept a A17 bearing if you needed too , but I am sure centric might make a proper rotor for that too

FYI - first pic 73 spindle , second pic 69-72 spindle. View attachment 365648 View attachment 365649

Call Centric's customer service number, it was from them that i got all the info on the 121-63021 rotor,

i do believe they have a rotor for the bigger spindles as well 121-67000 , i actually have a set of 121-63021 rotors that have been machined out with the 73's bigger bearing set, from the RAM MAN when he sent me out all the wrong parts... if you were close i would just give them to you

I just went though all of this , I’m a couple months too late for this thread. I just got all the parts together for the disc brake swap on my 69 Fury. The info is great , I didn’t know there was a sleeve for the early spindles. I bought 73 rotors at Napa but found out I bought 71 spindles when things didn’t fit properly. I have since bought 73 spindles. Now I have a clean set of 71 spindles i will never use I would sell to anyone needing them. Great thread with good info ! Thanks for offering me the rotors, I live by Edmonton so I’m not to far away but I have a new set already to go on . Maybe another member could use them .

how much you want for the 71 spindles, i maybe intesrested

In 2006, when I got mine, it took over a month and each came form a different State. I paid over $450.00 for them. I thought I had bought a '73 set-up, but when the parts for that year didn't fit, I learned the guy had sold me a set of '72s. Real fun!!

I just wanted to affirm that the Centric rotors I specified for the 1969 - 1972 Chrysler disc brake cars will indeed work and I installed a couple sets of them now on some of my cars - no sleeves! Before I got them, I had a long discussion with their technical rep who works out of Centric's U.S. facility very near where I live in California.

All I can say is the guy handling that line is from the U.S. and he speaks just like most of us do and he was the most expert person I have ever talked with at a parts supplier company. He knows all about the competition and knew their applications exactly correctly. He was an amazing guy and given his knowledge and expertise, and my experience with their rotors, I wouldn't hesitate to buy products from that company.

It appears that even NAPA supplies their products for our cars too, but as usual, NAPA puts their own brand name on their products that hide the true identity of them.

I also wanted to say that NAPA also seems to sell both the single piece rotor as well as a two piece rotor, again from what appears to be Centric (But as usual, NAPA brands their parts with their own chosen name to hide the direct source of the parts). Pretty amazing, I think! But as you would expect, the two piece ones are several times more expensive:

No, they are not the same , I beleive the 73 is a A17 inside and A16 outside , that's why the 1973 spindles are the most desired , also because at one time the 1973 rotors were of the one piece cast type and were way cheaper , but now even the earlier rotors are now once piece and reasonable in price , the earlier spindles were A6 inside and A2 outside , if I am wrong , I am sure there are others with more knowledge then I have on this topic
