I'm trying to figure out which Go Pro camera to get. Mostly to record 1/4 mile runs at the track. I have read reviews about the Go Pro 9 and the Go Pro MAX 360 and all the reviews just talk in circles. I can't get a definitive answer on which one would be the best for the track.

I have the Sto N Go front bumper camera mount so at least that part is figured out.

Anybody have any insight on which one would be best at the track and recording 1/4 mile runs???

On one uBoob vblogger I'm following he had mucho problems with a GP 360°, mainly with it staying on. I think he sent one back and exchanged it only to (last I checked) is trying another brand.

Another vbloger that knows his electronics was always complaining about his 4k GoPro always crashing when recording 4k. I don't know which model number (I can't keep up) but I imagine it was whatever model was first to offer 4k.

.

The YouTubers I watch who've used the GoPro 360 haven't been a big fan of it, most've said just don't bother buying it.

If you do wanna go the Gopro route, definitely get the Hero 9 Black, it's horizon leveling feature should help a ton while filming from a car. here's a review of it in 1.5mins

But there is another alternative called the DJI Osmo Action it is cheaper and it's a really good alternative.
here's a head to head video of them two- you can skip ahead to the 6min mark to see the test footage.

also, remember to get the protective cases for them...will help a ton on a car or if you're trying to attach one to a set piece 8 ft of the ground while basically hanging upside down...don't ask me how I know...

As good as the footage might be, the extra drag won't help your times.

I will order an aero efficient helmet for Stan....

I put a Go-Pro mount at the leading edge of the sunroof. It can be used with the roof closed, open or vented. Also the view from that vantage might be better for a trip down the strip rather than ahead of the car. Or do both:D:D

I have a Sto N Sho mount for the front license plate so I didn't have to drill any holes in the front bumper.

I just ordered the camera mount from Sto N Sho.
