Who here C-Body is their Daily Driver?

Trailer is only 48' I think I'm still less than 70'. I'm looking at a 45' trailer then the tractor can stretch out a bit. I think the angle on the picture just makes it look longer.

85 359 Pete with extended hood (this is more rare on 359 models prior to deregulation done by Elizabeth Dole under Ronnie in the eighties) 87 was the last year of the 359 replaced by 379 which are really common. It originally had a big cam IV Cummins with 400 hp , when I found it someone had grafted a 3406b cat engine in it crooked and no cooler of any kind after or air to air I ran it and was making the changes/upgrades when it lost a clip on#5 intake and spun a lifter eating the cam, also found out it was putting fuel in cooling system so off the road tried to sell. Started measuring mounts found out they made the mounts to fit the original Cummins mounts on frame, I happened to have a N14 Cummins engine and all of its wiring harnesses from a freightliner so I cut that all out and spliced it into the Pete now I have a electronic engine in a old Pete I'm not sure of the HP setting and I have the 500hp ecu off my old 379 but it doesn't embarrass itself and you can't go wrong with over 6.3 mpg so I'm not fixing till its broke next on the list is the bunk, putting a regular 63" on the this month and then taking that mess that is on there now and shrinking it to a 48" napper, and on, and on much like these cars it will never be done. Yes I know the front needs lowered, that's going to have to wait till the spring bushings get changed, got to consolidate work to reduce downtime. Now that I have bored the crap out of all but 3-4 of you I'll stop.

WTH do you haul?
You have a contract?
Are you dedicated to one outfit?

Steel coils I snap you a pic tomorrow I think they are single 44000# ones tomorrow.
Yes leased to one company hauling out of U.S. steel in Dravosburg pa. They do lots of other stuff/ places but I just stay local most of the time unless it gets slow.

Go back a couple of post I'll get you a pic of a coil chained down so everybody can critique if I'm doing correctly. LOL. Company is out of Cleveland I don't really want to put it here nobody big.

My dream job was to do a nightly drop n pick shuttle. Not deal with human beings. Punch in. Drop n pick. Punch out.
Know of any such jobs?

You were just bought out weren't you?
The new owners will be throwing you out within 2 years and bringing in an outside low ball carrier anyway.

That's kind of what I see on the horizon too....:sad7:

As the quote in my sig goes.... “When morality comes up against profit, it is seldom that profit loses.”
