Who put Stan in charge of selling ad space on FCBO?

You keep pushing that, start a thread and post all the same ones that was on that great thread over on Moparts....I am sure guys will add on

I wasn't really pushing it just making a funny .. but if this place want's one Alley Oop should start it and outline the rules. I'll participate to get it started but I don't frequent Moparts. They just got too much crazy **** in their sigs and posts going on over there and it give me a headache to look at it too long and I'm afraid I'll get a seizure LOL. I like this family of forums much better. FABO get's on my nerves looking at it for too long too but FCBO and FBBO is cool

My son just turned 18 & I'm grooming him to be a salesman. I wouldn't even consider teaching him how to swing a hammer. You might as well accept it cuz it's not gonna change.
That is so wrong. Starting out swinging a hammer teaches him the work ethic instead of becoming another gimme, gimme, gimme, guy....

When you're 65, you're going to say "Where did I go wrong?".
Right there.
You might as well accept it cuz it's not gonna change.

Well, Stan, your consistency is amazing. Once again, you are wrong.

No, Ross. You are wrong.
Nothing wrong with wanting him to go to college.
Nothing wrong in him wanting to go to college.
It's the "I'm grooming him to be a salesman. I wouldn't even consider teaching him how to swing a hammer" mindset you have that disturbs me.
It's all about what you want. Let the kid breath for crissakes.

I got my work ethic after seeing some people try to make careers out of flipping burgers at McDonalds.

There you go!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU decided!
Flipping burgers for minimum wage?...lol, wasn't that hard of a decision. Worked BUNCHES of dirty, smelly, long hour, no pay, rotten boss, no advancement, shitty *** jobs while keeping my butt in school. Hard work does pay off in the end.

I guess having less than 1% of the info doesn't keep you from forming a strong opinion about what's best for my son.

You made a broad statement.
I gave a broad response.
This is a forum. Not a one-on-one counseling session where both people are the doctor.
I don't know your son. He may have a physical impairment where his brain is best put to use.
He may have a 50" chest and be a strong as a bulldozer but has trouble adding 2 + 2. I don't know Ross.
And you don't know 1% of my story.

Our mileages may vary.

I did both in reference to roofing and college. I worked 2 summer roofing when I was in college. I discovered one thing, stay in college because I didn't want to physically roof for a living, you don't see any old roofers only old roofing company owners. On the other hand, I do not regret the physical aspect of swinging the hammer just make you a more rounded man. Ironically I never really ended up using my business finance degree and ended up being a paint business owner doing the physical labor too. So what the hell do I know.

Life is funny that way. I was sure I was gonna be an astronaut some day, but here I am posting stuff at FCBO instead, lol.
