WOW wth happened there? It looked like a nice fast car, I wonder what the body looks like now, it had to scuff up the whole rear end of it

The people with the camera are a couple of J Os . ...... Nothing about that was funny.... That car is the pride and joy of the owner and they think thats hilarious? Dickheads..........!!

Which reminds me, Gary, check your spring bolts

Probably some of those damn millennial's!!

heard something about this today on radio...apparently he owned the car less than a hr or two....

Poor guy wipes out his ride, do they stop to see if he's alright? Nope too busy laughing.

Someday something will happen to them then we will see if they laugh ,Hope the guy was ok that looked nasty .

He blew it. And all by himself IMHO. If that axle would have hit the other car who would have been the arse then ?

interesting. never seen that happen in real life.

i guess i am more in the "thats not THAT funny" category because of what COULD have happened--to some innocents on the sidewalk minding their own business, let alone to either of the two street dragsters.

seeing it in American Graffiti with the cop car..ok, thats a movie. real life is different with THIS kinda problem.

giving the the laughing survivors the benefit of the doubt, we dunno what happened before this clip..maybe the "loser" was jawing away at them and then got his comeuppance when the ***-end of his car was draggin' on the ground? crushing embarrassment AND a big fat bill waiting on him to clean this mess up.

to me it looks like the rearend locked up. what happened after that is anyone's guess but it didn't look like a leaf spring rear though. Look at the way that nose dives right before it pitches left. I think a wheel or wheels locked up.

We expect empathy or sympathy from people these days? These two were absolute asswagons. I'd love to see the very same thing happen to them, have people video it and submit it to every site possible. Laugh at them like it's the funniest thing ever to happen! The people in the Dart could've been killed, had the fuel tank erupted in flames. Yeah, I agree with you, dat's sum funny $hit rite dare!!! Not.

What is even MORE ignorant of these two wastes of protoplasm, is that they do NOT even stop to see if everyone is OK! They slowed up, barely, then took off. Karma sucks, and I hope their karma gets a good, swift kick in the ***.

If it had been a Mustang we'd be laughing our heads off, the driver got what he disserved. The streets are not the place for this, and empty road, open highway maybe, not a populated street intersection.

Yes it is and no I wouldnt......

It actually is funny, but not for the guy that it happened to and as a car enthusiast, I do hate to see any classic car get damaged or destroyed. It would've gone from being funny to being tragic in a hurry though, had the gas tank been ripped open or had it hit another car or a pedestrian. Of course, that's the reason why people shouldn't do this on the streets. It's just too unpredictable.

If it's true that he had only owned the Dart for a couple of hours, that's even more reason not to do something like that. I mean, with a car that you're not familiar with and haven't had a chance to go over, you don't know what's possibly going to break. What I don't like about it the most is that whenever something like this happens, it gives all of us a bad name. When car enthusiasts, like us, watch the video, we have a pretty good idea what caused it and we also know that this is not something that happens everyday. However, when that video goes viral and millions of people who are not car enthusiasts see it, it will give them the idea that classic cars and hot rods are all unsafe hazards on the roads. Of course, when the police and the politicians see it, it gives them one more reason to do a crackdown, to get the VIU out on the streets and harass every thing that looks even the slightest bit modified in any way, in an attempt to "make sure that nothing like this ever happens again".

The two that made and posted the video probably wanted to get the hell out of there before the cops showed up, after all, they were guilty of street racing too. It won't do them much good though, because by posting on YouTube, the cops will see it. A lot of highway stunt drivers have been caught lately by posting their videos on social media. Needless to say, the driver of the Dart is likely facing charges, possibly losing his license. The car, or what's left of it, was likely hauled to some compound somewhere. Add to that the cost of fixing the car, if and/or when he gets it back. I wouldn't want to be him.

I do have sympathy for him, after all, twenty or so years ago, I might've done it too.

I'm going to get one of those fancy aftermarket suspensions and my buddy Timmy down the block has a 110 volt welder that he is pretty good at.......NOT. If he is doing that in a car that someone else built after just taking ownership, shame on him. People with dash cams need their eyes poked out, only two reasons for that looking for litigation or trying to protect themselves from their bad driving.

That was street racing? Looked like 2 dorks in whatever and the guy in the Dart stomping on it. Who drag races on a left turn? The dorks should have stopped, they clearly are morons. I guess I street race every time I accelerate faster than a grandma would.

There was no reason to stop, nobody was hurt. I have done damage with my own stupidity, he'll think trice the next time.

They were all jerks, end of story!

I took my rear diff to somebody who knew what they were doing. The labor wasn't all that much. I wonder if some hack built his rear end.
