Why Why Why Why Why Why Why

I applaud the guy for bring that car back. And the look he's sporting reminds me off mopars from the 80's...how quickly we all forget the long shackles, traction bars, air shocks, cranked down torsion bars...etc. It's a look that may not currently be in vogue...but I like it cause of the memories it evokes.

I applaud that part also. If you watch the beginning video he dragged it out of a field next to a barn and obviously got it street legal. That part I like immensely.

Ha! I did go for a drive. Needed a jug of milk and decided to top up the tank in my '71 before I put her away for winter. Seven miles each way, all highway, cloudy, 29 degrees F (-1C) with a 30 mph wind (50 km/h). Kind of miserable but, there's no snow here yet, anyway I had the heat on.:laughing4: Enjoyed the drive.:th_krazy:

Man, I remember those days too. Everybody, it seemed, had the back end of their car up. I also remember everybody getting pulled over and all of us being told to drop them back down. LOL.

The problem I see is the Admin wants to grow the site. Obviously the more people that come in the more money he/she can potentially make to keep it going/expanding. And all it seems some of you do is ***** about what people do with their own cars. Lets say this guy was new to C-body's and is looking for information about his car, he does a google search and finds this place. Lets say he doesn't find a post pertaining to his car and decides to join and then later find the post. How long do you think he's going to stick around with all the blow-hards knocking his ride? What if he sees it before joining? Would he join? Would you join a forum that the members were trashing your blue or white whales before you even got there? Sometimes I read the posts here and it's like a fahking knitting circle or something.

I'm of the belief that guys who buy a C-body and modify or deviate from the norm so much that we look at them as

1. Stupid,
2. Ugly, or..
3 WTF were they thinking, at best...

don't go looking to join C-body forums in the first place. And 99% don't. We're not losing any potential members as they aren't looking to be member's in the first place. They do their own thing and check out the newest and the latest and only are interested in what shade of Lime Green is the current rage. They don't come here looking for the correct color code for a 71 dark blue Newport. They rather post videos on youtube or pics on CarDomain. They go to the Donk shows and not Carlisle. They have no interest in calling Murray Park but rather what Pablo next door found at Pepboys.

We're not scaring anyone off that can or WANTS to contribute anything to the C-body world.
Anybody with a love of all thing C-bodies has been always been warmly greeted here.

The guys who ruin a C-body could care less if it's a Caprice, Crown Vic, etc. It's just a car they saw sitting on a lawn in the neighborhood that was very cheap through neglect or he bought it off a buddy that abused the car after he got it when Aunt Ruth went into the nursing home. And they could care less what we think of them. They're laughing at US. Frig them....

If there was a number of Donks that want to be part of a forum, a new forum could be established just for them.

FDBO..........For Donk Bodies Only

No kidding...

Fahking hilarious. ;)

and yet here you are, obviously you find something attractive here.
Just here for your opinion. I'll make sure to check with you before I do anything to my cars (Commando, that was sarcasm ;) )

You insult the **** out of me & my cars. I can take it & I would just tell you to **** off but it's just super annoying to hear the same purist drabble over & over. I have no problem with sawzall jokes etc. Obviously I have given it out plenty so I'd better be able to take it. But I would never insult another member's car. Read what I've posted about your car & then read what you've posted about my cars.

You make this forum into a knitting circle, grandma.

The guys who ruin ..
As has already been pointed out multiple times in this thread, describing bringing some POS back to life as ruining it is ridiculous.

Sign of the times. The generations that have no real relation or recollection of these cars when they were new missing the historical relation and maybe even in the same way as some Hot Rodder who chopped and channeled a Deuce Coupe in 1965.

It's this generation's own invention and history will tell us if these are regarded as some kind of classic in the far future.
Still doesn't make them more attractive in my eye, though.

Stormer: I have as much respect for you as anyone else here. We keep poking you in the ribs in a good natured way and you give it right back. And truthfully, I really haven't detected any animosity towards you here.

I do know this. At the cruise nights I go to and especially the one I run, all of us gather aound in our lawn chairs in a nice shady spot and unrelentlessly riducule each other's cars all with good belly laughs. "Hey Alvin, when you gonna paint that Bonneville so the ho's stop mistaking you for their pimp when you drive MLK Blvd?" We go non-stop all night long and we have a great time.
There's a huge difference between hating and picking on someone. I have a saying that when we stop picking on you, then you should worry.

Well you know what, I would argue that point somewhat...about "its a generational thing". I wasn't around when these cars were brand new, OR even by the time most of them were in used car lots. However, I can respect them for what they were and are, and their design and engineering achievements. I think it's just a lack of respect if you ask me.

Well definitely didn't mean everyone of this generation, I didn't grow up with them as well simply because these cars never played a role in Germany.

@stormer - I agree w/ commando, I HATE what you've done/doing with the red Imp, but I admire your "chutzpah" so to speak.....and no matter what anyone says...it still YOUR car, and as I've read along all the threads I does not REALLY seem to me that anyone has any animosity towards you....appears to me as if its all good.

I have no problem with sawzall jokes etc.

I'm glad you're liking the good natured ribbing about the sawzall jokes. And that's all it is...........good natured ribbing. The bottom line is it's your car.......do whatever makes you happy.
