Hopefully this is the best place to try and find the elusive wiper park cam for my 75 newport. Its a two speed system currently and the center of the park cam, the two piece nylon effort that clips to the crank on the motor is broken. I either need a good used (yeah right!) one or new, OR a complete 3 speed set up that dosent have this system. Being a pita right now as its the only thing stopping me getting the car back on the road. Any help greatly appreciated.

Since you cannot find the cam assy. for the two speed system I would change it to the 3 speed. You will need the switch, motor, and linkage from any 1974 - 1978 "C" body. I have done this before and it is easy.

Bob should spot this anytime now and will show you his wiper cam repair.

Nope...that is intermittent wipers only. This is what 74-77 2 and 3 speed systems used.

Is that the elusive '78 NYB bushing?

No...the one on the Van's link is (pic below)...this is the repop of the 78 style link that fails...Kip got one and told me this repop works for the B and F and M bodies but that they are too small for the C body.

I repaired my daughters Volare with the one from Vans and it worked.

Definitely stay away from the 78 parts. Only year they used the "big cam" and there is not a repop part(s) that will work. 79 parts won't work either. I would use the part Mr. C posted or covert to a 3 speed with donor parts.

My repair is for the 78 "big cam" problem only.

With that mod I can use all the parts from a 74-77 C Body.

BTW, my wipers are still have the intermittent function. They work and park perfectly.

Thanks for the input folks. I will take some pics of the parts that need replacing tomo. I found a used park cam setup which arrived the other day but is too small in every crucial area, same design as the newport but smaller.

I'm sorry Mr C, Im having trouble following this.
Is what you are saying this?
The Vans bushing is supposed to be like the '78 C-body bushing but Kip tried it and it did not work. Yes?

Correct. It works on other cars (Volare's etc.) but not the 78 C body. Apparently Chrysler made the C body link unique in 78.

Yep, 78 C-Body wiper cam was a one year only disaster.

Ok heres the deal with my 75 newport linkage. The brown nylon piece is all i really need as its broken giving no where for the link rod to mount to. I already brought a complete used assembly but although serviceable is too small in diameter. Measurements for mine are:- white nylon piece outside diameter 43mm or 1 11/16 inch. Hole diameter in link rod 23mm or 7/8 inch. Used but serviceable will do just fine if theres any about.
