I am changing carpet in my 1966 Fury III. Car has bucket seats and when seats and carpet were removed I was surprised to find 3/4" plywood under carpet behind each seat and a 2 x 2 under one side of the bucket seats. The 1966 manual does show the plywood but doesn't reference the 2 x 2 mounted to each seat. Is the plywood and 2 x 2 needed? Did previous over just use the 2 x 2 to raise the seats? I'm at a loss. No, none of the wood was used to cover any holes/rust. Floors are solid with original paint. If wood is needed, do I adjust size to my height?
