The wife and I have been putting in full days working on the new man cave. We started with a pretty crappy old pole barn. Last year we resided the walls and put a new roof on, all with steel. New insulated garage doors at that time too. Then recently we put a steel ceiling in and blew in insulation. Replaced any bad or missing wood sheeting inside. Two coats of primer, two coats of paint. Then we started working on painting and hanging cabinets, building a work bench top to mount on top of another set of cabinets. All the cabinets were free since our neighbor was remodeling their kitchen. I will post some more photos as we get the finishing touches done and start moving stuff in.

This is taken from just inside the entry door.

THis is were the air compressor and wire feed welder will go. The cabinet is for the welding helmet, gloves, wire, etc. On the right, you can see the line of cabinets for spray paints, oils, filters, etc.

This is the set of cabinets w/doors and drawers that I have a piece of 3/4 plywood cut to fit on top of that has 4 coats of polyurethane on.

Heater, a cabinet for ATV, RZR, and Snowmobile oil. And a half sheet of pegboard.

On the floor ............

Very nice, that is bright in there

its actually a lot brighter than the photos. I had the flash up on the camera.

The wife doesn't like all white, but it was not up for discussion. I rarely put my foot down, but the walls and ceiling had to be white. So much brighter. The garage at our house is Warm Chinchilla or some ****, something she picked out. It's full of lighting, but never bright. The shop in the above photos has four of those old *** fluorescent fixtures lighting up that 48x50x12' walls nicely. White for the win. She painted most of the cabinets months ago in white, the recently painted ones are dark blue. Washing my hands before opening a white cabinet is not my M.O. Heck, I wipe my hands on my pants before walking across the shop for a rag. LOL

Jealous... Really nice.

Thanks, it's not perfect. There is no water or sewer. The co-op wanted 35,000 to bore under the highway to get us water and sewer. No one else ever paid anything even remotely close to that. Most of the guys on the board for the co-op are pissed that we bought up this land before they knew it was even for sale. The greedy suckers think they should own everything. So they tried pricing us out of the property. Sucks, but a plastic rental shitter and some jugs of water will work fine for me.

I just piss in Gatorade bottles & throw em in the trash.

I use grime boss wipes. Jegs bought way too many of them so they're always on sale in the store. They are fantastic if you don't have water.

Looks like a great place to hang out and work on projects..... But...... Is it really a MAN cave if the wife helps decorate.....? :thinker:

Free labor is always appreciated.... LOL!!! My entire house was still construction white until girlfriend/wife/ex-wife/new girlfriend painted and decorated. The exception being the car art prints and GB Packer stuff in my man cave.

Man that's looking great Catfish! Nothing like a bright, well organized space to work in.
I've got some work to do in my cave before winter which is coming quick.

I don't understan this co-op thing. What is a co-op as it applies tu your situation?

The industrial park is right on the outskirts of town. Years and years ago, to get water and city sewer all the businesses got together and ran their own big water and sewer lines to tie into the city. So its not really private owned nor city owned. And they have you by the balls. Our property has a huge septic tank and leach field but since sewer is available, it is illegal for us to use it. Same thing if we wanted to drill a water well, we are within so many feet of available water that we cannot drill and we have to tie in if we want it. We even had the State inspector out, he agrees that its bullshit but its the truth.

Around 1:00 AM go in with a Bobcat and.......
Alternatively, use the septic system and hide the water closet behind a false wall. I would.
The Industrial Park business owners are probably harming the surrounding environment 1,000 times as much as you taking a dump once a day. That's total B.S.

Oh. And I'd install a well water pump inside the building, too....
After all the inspections and you receive a Certificate of Occupancy of course.
