That is one of the nicest looking vehicles I have ever placed my eyes on.

Why do you say it has the wrong engine? And what would be your "etc"??

Agree with Jake, it is a very nice looking car. Had a '63 years ago, very similar to the '64's.

Since there is no pictures of the engine compartment it is hard to say what engine is in the car. But the 340 was not made in 1964, and the Chrysler line of cars did not have small block engines installed from the factory in the 60's.

right, as stated below by the other poster, it says it has a 340 so no 413. The etc. was sort of referring to the fact that it's been customized, which is fine if you like that, to me I'd rather have it bone stock with it's original, nevertheless a nice wagon, don't get me wrong, just seems like a lot for a "custom" but of course they cost a lot to build, so i get that. thanks.

Go back and read the posting again, it states it is a "413" which would be stock engine for a '64 New Yorker. It then states that they made a mistake and posted "340" for the engine when they meant "340 HP", not "340 CID".

340 HP for a stock 413 is probably correct, although I don't remember for sure without looking it up.

ok, sorry, guilty as charged, failed to read the full ad. thanks for the correction...

This is a real nice car ... if this is legitimate "action" on it (hard to know sometimes with Ebay), I would not have thought it would be this high with two days to run almost.

NOT dissin' the car .. just surprised. Hope it does well for both buyer and seller :)

i dig it too, don't get me wrong...

I think we agree that it is a VERY nice '64 wagon, even though it is nearly impossible to remain 100% stock after 52 years. Do YOU still have all your original parts?? I know I don't.

good point, and i should have looked at it closer, so probably worth every penny

Not that it matters but close to half that bid price would be eaten up just in re-polishing and re-plating. Go piece by piece around this '64 and add it up! You can't do ah door handle for $100 any more and this beauty has 5, lol. AND That's for re-plating. Be prepared to re-mortgage the Ponderosa if you're lucky enough to locate NOS. Headliner $1000, Carpet, seats, and door panels, $5000 to $10,000. Re-build an RB engine $5000, Paint $5000 to $10,000. Know anybody that's done ah Long Roof? Ask 'um how deep they are lol, Jer

totally agree, like i said, that all adds up quick, so no doubt he's a got a whole lot in it....

That Chrysler wagon is probably the nicest example of that model I have seen in the last 30 years, everything working it seems, and even the dual air conditioning. Even if it wasn't the best styling to my eye. If that were a 1960 model in that condition, it would fetch around $75K IMO. As I write this, it is at 20K and probably will go a little higher. I would just ditch the tires/wheels and the exhaust tips and enjoy it.

Well I did go back and read the original posting, AND I DO stand by the post I made concerning this car. And if you totally read mine I stated without any pictures, (AND I DON'T SEE ONE ANYWHERE) of the engine compartment I am totally correct in what I stated in my earlier post.

very nice wagon , i think there was a bit of an issue with the hp rating and displacement of the engine . clearly its a big block with the dist in the front pass side , and non-car people confuse hp ratings , torque ratings and cubic displacement all the time ,my ups driver just bought a 66 riv ,says to me '' its got a 465 in it '' , thats the torque rating , i rest my case .
