Hi,
me again :D

I am finishing to cut my rotten trunk floor on the 300 hurst and I realise that the frame is shot too.
If someone has a good rear frame for sale I can be interested to replace mine. I think that any 1970 chrysler car can do it, but I do not know if 2 door and 4 doors are the same.
There is no problem for the shipping I take care of eveything.

thanks !

There is no rear frame. It's a Unibody. If the structural part of your Unibody rear, there's nothing the common man can do at that point.

Hum i was mistaken by the bolts.. i belived that we can remove the kind of " frame " we can see at the back and front.
that is not good news. I'll take pictures and you'll tell me what is the best thing to do.

This is done/required in the B body world frequently but it's a lot of metal work/pricey. I'm sure someone here has experience replacing uni body frame rails.

Pictures of how much of it you need would help as you probably or hopefully don't need the hole thing(s). Is it just the ends?

Maybe azblackhemi aka Chris?

I have the parts if you need them but you really do need to know everything that you need (frame rails, trunk floor, extensions, wheel houses etc) before tackling this project. It might be better to install what you end up needing as an assembly instead of as individual pieces.

Did you finally get a chance to dig into that parts car?

I did it on a 69 Super Bee. I had replacement metal, but this is basically how I did it. I left the rear axle attached to the front spring perches the entire time. Remove/cut/install one side at a time. Make many measurements BEFORE you remove a single piece of metal.

Try to find the 1970 - 1971 Chrysler parts catalog. There are inexpensive copies on CD available. It was very helpful when rebuilding my trunk area.

oh thanks a lot everyone !!

Do not worry I will be assisted by professionals.

I talked whit them yesterday and we have several options but everything is possible : to buy the required parts or buy half a car and replace all the rear.

sevnt300: what do you have exactly ? I am interested of course !! do you have pics ?
The best thing would be an entire rear of a 300. but if the rear fender are not in good shape, it is no use for me i would prefer cut my lower fenders.
If it is not possible, the rails, floors and reinforcment " only " are a very good option too.

Up !

I checked with the parts manual i bought to show the parts I need with the red arrow.

The best solution up to me is still to get an entire half car. :) because if I can have some rear fenders too it would be great.

I know you said you will be assisted by professionals, but make sure you brace the living shite out of the interior before you start. Once that rear floor section is gone the car is about as rigid as silly putty. I think doing it one piece at a time would help with this, but I'd still weld in about a dozen temporary braces before you start cutting. I assume that you're going for a pebble beach style restoration? If that's the case you can rent a spot welder and put it back together the way the factory did, but I'm sure it would be an enormous PITA. I guess it boils down to what you want...

I have a 69 Dodge carcass still...

In 69 it was the same as the Chrysler, not sure if it will work for a 70, the part numbers changed.

This only goes just forward of the B-pillar, car was cut in half under the front seat.

I've migged a driver's side frame rail into a '68 Chrysler wagon - takes about three hours to do it right. Clipped a roof on a New Yorker coupe too.
