I bet that car is in a lot worse condition with someone's actual eyeballs on it.

I just talked to the owner and he was very friendly and didn't seem like a prick. He has a trunk he got out of New York to replace the warped one. His selling price isn't the 20k listed. He put that there to see what he could get. Says he never heard of this car that has been a couple blocks away for almost 35 years. The car is complete and he claims it is solid and not a spot of rust in the trunk, someone started to repair scratches on the right quarter, that is why it has black paint on it. He was basing his price on other crazy priced shells that we have all seen. That's my report on this one. Til next time!

So just for snickers what is his actual selling price?

At the asking price he is looking for a sucker and alienating serious buyers. Agree he will have it a long time if he doesn't revise the price.

Looks like the highest bid is like 5k. Could be worth it I guess. Buying from ebay always seems to be a gamble though.
Did the Hurst 300 come with a handling package like the Hurst Olds? If so I wonder if you could strip it put them onto another car... Hmm.

Well, as far as the 300 Hurst not getting much love around here, I think making it a parts car for anything other than another 300 Hurst would be wrong, wrong, wrong.

Fair enough, I was just thinking a Hurst Fury would be really cool to build.

Be unique and make it a Gran Sport Furry 111...
I want a furry car!

The Hurst-specific parts are of not much use to a Fury.

The hood and trunklid/quarter-extensions don't fit a Fury. The seats could be found in an Imp parts car, all the mechanical bits are 'standard' parts-bin stuff (swaybar, disc brakes, exh manifolds, aircleaner, etc).

If you wanted to mock a custom-made Hurst scoop onto a Fury, a 71 Fury hood would be a better choice. Putting a scoop on a double-bubble 70 hood might look kinda silly.

But making a Hurst Fury is certainly possible, and would certainly catch some people off guard. Although I'm not sure the striping would work as well, for the body lines are different between Fury and 300 under the quarter window, and the striping follows that.

I was thinking more of the performance parts that go into the hurst package. They usually come with a pretty upgraded suspension and engine right? Maybe that was just the Hurst olds though

Yes, but no.
For Hurst the TNT was std, along with a HD hi-perf 727 and 3.23 SureGrip, probably disc brakes (I'm not 100% on that), probably the 15/16" front swaybar (no rear swaybar) and perhaps HD leafsprings and torsion bars. I had a 'plain' 70 300 that had all of that stuff on it.

But all of that suspension stuff can be found on other cars, or better modern parts from Firmfeel, P-S-T, etc. And of course the engine/trans upgrades have widespread vendors. To my knowledge there is nothing performance-wise that is unique to the 300-Hurst, hence my comment that it was all parts-bin available. Granted, the 70-71 440HP and 6-pack engines have a unique external balance, but you wouldn't really need to duplicate that if making a Fury tribute.

I don't know much of the Hurst-Olds stuff.
