Any Colt fans

I REALLY want a Colt now....
Good luck with that! Lol, most have been re-constituted to dumpsters by now....they rotted like hell! I had two back in the seventies they were great, but the cancer got them big time! Fun as hell to drive and great gas mileage!

I think i remember my Dad saying he had one back in The day. And all the years i went to Junkyards i dont ever recall seeing one. Plenty of Abodys, even saw a Plymouth arrow but no Colts.

Back when I built mine I ended up with 3 of them at one time picked all the good stuff of the three and scrapped the rest . When I moved to AZ . found a 72 that was perfect for $900.00 passed on it , stuff out here don't rust .....

This was around 77, Dad worked in clay modeling dept at plymouth, so there was always new mopars at our house. Co-workers stopping by with something cool to check out. Dads 73 SE, gunmetal with black leather, and moms spirit of 76 colt 4 spd. Behind our house about 1/2 mile away was the ford engine test cells, once in a while one would grenade and rock the house.

Haha. Lived near a Ford engine test site. I bet that place stayed busy trying to match Hemi power

I wonder how many were of this variety? Would have been fun to go thru their scrap metal bin.

Mark Panos doing a burnout in his Hemi Colt. Pic from 1980. He said is was a 406 inch Hemi with a 4 speed Lenco. Also said he had to add 300 pounds to make the weight break !!!! Crazy. He said this car actually drove pretty good

I always liked the styling of the 70's Colts. Kinda fuselage in nature.

We used to have a guy here in OKC in the early '80s that had a '76 Colt coupe with a 440 in it. It was driven by a guy who previously got in a bad motorcycle accident at the dragstrip, and decided to run a 440 Colt after that. He was not exactly "right" after the bike wreck, and he took lots of chances normal people wouldn't. Dude was a few fries short of a Happy Meal, if you know what I mean. This Colt was insanely fast and just as unstable. It had a full roll cage and ran high 9s in the quarter. I wish I could remember his name, though. Supposedly, he went off the deep end one Saturday night after losing a grudge race, went home and killed himself. Never saw him or his car after that. His Colt had a bit of bad karma the whole time he had it, and I think no one wanted it after that.

They pop up on racing junk every now & then. They are small. I bought an Arrow drag car a few years ago. I had to bolt the seat straight to the floor. Still my helmet was rubbing the roof. Didn't like that so I sold it. I'd love a Colt, but I don't know if it's going to be any better
