Donny's 1970 300

My Grandfather ordered it this way, he liked stepping on the gas alot, always made him smile, I'd be a little fella riding with him, he'd say "Donald, watch this gauge" (the Tachometer), then he'd floor it and start grinning from ear to ear!

Good thing this car stayed in the family. Otherwise being a fourdoor it would most likely been used up and parted out.

Some of the pics dumped off...trying again. 440Assembly.jpg440Assy1.jpg440block.jpg440block1.jpg440CrankIn.jpg

I don't understand where the work is being done.
You look like you live where the is a Nazi Home owner Association. Or am I confused?

These pics cover 1984 to now. New Hampshire and two different places in Texas. A donor 300 car in a junkyard where I got some spare parts, and the gold colored fenders. As I said, they're all over the place.

Did you serve in the army in Germany, Donny ?

I noticed this to be no German environment, as I live in Germany :).
Prior to the pic posted with the stuff from Germany I noticed your orange 2.5 ton hydraulic jack and thought: That should be the same German made jack I also got 25 years ago.

Still making progress on this car! Almost got the body filler smoothed out to the 80% level, then will entrust the rest to the painter whenever that happens. Also, I ordered a new PS pump and hoses, and realized there's no reason this car can't or won't be ready for the mid October MOPAR show here in San Antonio, and not just trailer ready, but be able to drive it across town to this show, and drive it back! I've got a few more things to sort out, gas tank, exhaust pipes need tweaking, two new tires, inspection, insurance, registration, and, if I can, get the stock A/C unit to work, and convert it to R134. Tall order, but, a little each day will ensure this success!

I did do 5 consecutive years in Germany; 1990-1995, Stuttgart, Heidelberg, then Augsburg.

I was stationed in Germany for 15 years......the last time was in Augsburg from 1984-1992 (including Iraq 1990-1991). I was in 1st Battalion, 36th Field Artillery Regiment.

I PCS to Augsburg shortly after you Artillery guys left, they made that place a MI area, however filled with dummies! lol

I was the very last Artillery guy to leave Augsburg. I hoped you enjoyed Augsburg as much as I did. It was like Camelot compared to most places I've been stationed. Our Guns (8" Howitzers) were on Reese Kaserne. I lived on Sheridan Kaserne in the SEBQ right next to the Rec Center.

You're absolutely right about those MI guys.........the strangest people I ever met in the Army. LOL!

They would get very upset in the "Q" and through out the immediate military community when we went on combat alert (Lariat Advance) at 3-4 am and woke them up while roaring away to our LDA (Local Defense Area) to set up our fighting positions with our Howitzer's. LOL!

My favorite place to eat was the Balkan Grill in Konigsbrunn. "Chef" the owner was a good friend of mine. He would shut his place down on the 4th of July and come to my "American BBQ Party" at the Q.

I really miss Augsburg!!!

Here's a picture of "Birth Control" ....I had 24 of these!

Right outside of Sheridan, there was a German guy that ran a cleaning business, press our BDUs and general work like that, his name was Kalka, Herr Kalka. Great guy, old Hitler Youth guy, loved to talk about the good old days! I liked to go to the place down near B17 on the way to Gablingen where the Beer and Pretzels were to die for! The Beer was that heavy Yeast beer, see the bubbles bubbling up, it was a meal that Pretzel and Weizen Beer! I've got tons of pictures from Augsburg I need to transfer to digital, I keep putting that off...gotta get to it!
