Very interesting. It has a radio, which we did not until the later 1980's. We also had Fords in 1970.

So weird to go to all of that effort to create a stunning vehicle but then not have the right powertrain - like, not even an available powertrain for police cars. I could see giving it a 440, but why bother with the 6-pack on a police car replica?
Owner said it was part of a deal involving a super bird.I suspect previous owner had throw away money and said why not,I will have the only 6 pack cop car around.Owner now who is selling has no knowledge of who/what/when car was restored and pedigree. I suspect he has throw away money also.

It's hard to imagine a motor pool wanting to deal with a 6-pack setup, not to mention any other "special setups" performed by "NASCAR shops". I dunno, I'd want some proof of that kind of stuff happening. Lots of stories about "special order" cars being more than what they really were seem to run rampant in any category of classic car.
BTW can someone tell me why anyone would want a white steering wheel? Was it to keep it from getting burning hot in the sun in southern climates? Trying to keep such a thing clean, or even clean-looking, would be impossible after a few thousand miles!

The white wheel was for heat from the sun. I had a 55 Chevy with a black Grant steering wheel, when the car was parked with the sun hitting the wheel it would get very hot.

Car is still for sale at the same $49,000 price after being posted on here for a week. Is it correct with the 6BBL and blue paint job? No not at all, but I actually really like it even though its not quote on quote “correct”. I think its pretty cool. It looks beautifully done, and I like how he created it as a “what if” car with the engine although its not correct. Imagine pulling into a car show with that, people would loose their minds. You will definitely be the only one there with a car like that. I’m curious as to what department it was used in originally, and if he has the original engine too incase someone wanted to turn it back to original.
