Can a 1969 300 be converted to a 1970 300 with relative ease?
I reasearched the production numbers and mother MoPar made 50% more '69 300 2-door's than the 1970 model year. I am hoping that I can change the front and rear bumpers to "convert" the '69. what are your thoughts?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1) It will still be a '69 car with 'wrong' parts.
2) Radical changes may be cool for you but VERY suspect and undesirable when it comes time to sell. It would raise more questions than it was worth and probably decrease value.
3) Probably more worth your time and effort to find a '70 than to go through a conversion if that's what you want.

That's probably one of the dumbest things I've heard. Both are low production cars, The 69 so much more attractive (IMHO), and it will still be a 69.
I hope you don't think the production numbers will change ..... one less 69 and one more 70.....?
Also ....... 69 300 production totaled 16075 2 door h/t's vers 1970, (including the 300H), total of 10074. Hardly 50%.

Don't take our responses here to personal. We are a fun loving group..... really

Here is the short list:

Rear Bumper
Grill, surround and marker lights
tail lights (and the rear support panel I believe)
trunk lid
steering column
dashboard (lower)
seats
door panels
valve covers
air cleaner
brake booster
and hundreds of smaller electrical, mechanical and beauty parts that make the whole thing work....and after all of that, it is still a '69

Bottom line, there are plenty of '70's out there waiting to be saved. Invest wisely.

Some like the attributes of a particular year over another......Nobody broke Jers balls on this board for making the bat wagon.
I am a bit puzzled however since they made 70 300s. I guess it may be different if they weren't out there

He may be referring to verts, 3,000 or so in '69 and 1,100 in '70.

Wait wait, verts have two doors, coupes have two doors, you are gonna have to add both the production numbers together.

It wouldn't be all that difficult to make it look like a '70. However, in most States and Provinces, it will still be registered as a '69 and would still have to be sold as a '69. As mentioned, it may and probably would scare away potential buyers, if you ever decide to sell.

I once briefly thought about putting '72 tail lights, rear bumper, corner extensions and trunk lid on my '71. I like the look of the '72 *** end and thought it might look cool, certainly different, but it would be a major change to the car, assuming it would all fit. Enough of a change to possibly make no one else want it if I ever decided to put her up for sale. :)

Growing up my uncle had a '70 300. Loved the car, and always wanted one. It seemed to me that everytime a fuselage 2-door 300 was for sale it was a '69 or 71, or a total POS. I just prefere the grill and taillights of the '70 (mostly sentimental). I do not flip cars for profit or "rebody" cars. If you are into C-bodies its because you like them, they sure do not command a high sale price. I just wanted to know if the front and rear bumpers can be removed from a '69 and '70 pieces put in their place, if there is more to it such as fenders, hood, deck lid, rear 1/4s are slightly different ect let me know.

oh and although it may mean something to someone else having a 100% "correct" or "original" car. it means little to me. I like cool cars regardles of what the fender tag says. just my 2 cents.

The front bumpers are the same, just need to swap the grill, surround and markers. It's the rear that may pose the biggest problem. The trunk, quarter extensions, tail lights and the rear bumper are very different, but the mounting may be the same. Do you have a decent '69 300 already? If not, you may be better off finding the '70 of your dreams, that's all I'm saying. A very nice B7 was just discussed here, may still be available.
