convert a 69 300 to a 70 300?

Front bumpers are not the same. 69 has parking lights in bumper. 70 is in grille.

Side markers are also different.

No parking lights in my bumber...

image.jpgRight, side markers are different, I think the fronts are just reflectors, but the front bumpers are interchangeable.

Like your Imperial lenses, you're not trying to fool anyone, you just like them

The 1969 and 70 models used a dedicated 300 front bumper with no openings for park lights. In 1971 the 300 used the same bumper as the Newports, probably to cut costs since the 300 was in it's last year of production. The '71 has the Newport style park lights in the bumper.

I'll gladly take all three years. :)

^^ same as 1971 New Yorker front bumper, too.

1970 and 1971 New Yorker and 300 also share rear bumpers, with the New Yorker having a non-lit chrome insert in between taillights.

As mentioned above, 1969 front fenders are different from 1970/1971 units for said side marker light (1969: reflector) location.

And while we're at it: The 1969 440 engines had a 10.1 to 1 compression ratio while the 1970 440 engines hat a 9.7 to 1 compression ratio. :happy11:

See, you get it!
Nobody throws a fit when someone takes a '69 or '70 charger and makes a Daytona clone out of it. The individual just likes aero cars.

Oops... I was wrong about the bumpers. I should have double checked my facts. Sorry.

That's probably one of the dumbest things I've heard. Both are low production cars, The 69 so much more attractive (IMHO), and it will still be a 69.
I hope you don't think the production numbers will change ..... one less 69 and one more 70.....?
Also ....... 69 300 production totaled 16075 2 door h/t's vers 1970, (including the 300H), total of 10074. Hardly 50%.

You're right. It's more like 60%.

He didn't say they made 50% as many '70s as they did '69s. He said they made 50% more '69s than '70s. That's 59% more '69s than '70s, but 37% fewer '70s than '69s.

2 is 67% as much as 3
3 is 50% more than 2

Thanks for clearing that up

I could see making a '71 vert, now that would be something.

I thought about that a while back. I had a 69 300 convertible parts car and knew of a pretty nice 71 300 coupe, complete minus engine & trans.
I was slap in the middle of restoring Jazebelle so another 300 project wasen't that appealing then.

That would have been nice, the '71 300 front is my favorite of all three years.
