That only applies to 500 models for '66.

This would be one fitting of filling the base model spot in my roster. I like the color and the wheels. Got other things going right now.

Just saying... too cool of a car to be standard bench. I get disappointed when I see one without buckets and the full console.

I wanted to ditch my bench seat after finally finding buckets and a console, but I'm glad I didn't, I like having both.

I always preferred a bench seat, more seating, you can sleep on a bench and the wife can sit close.
Then I had a few Polaras with buckets and damn if they aren't more comfortable and less restrictive.

Yes, the sitting position is lower with the buckets, at least in my case. I had to relearn how to drive the Polara after I got the correct bench seat, freshly recovered in the incorrect pattern, but nice and fresh, I swear it sat up higher by 4" at least.

I like this car, and I struggle with the base model Monaco, but if there was a way, I'd have already called. I was tempted earlier, but I know I can't. I do still want a base model Monaco and a station wagon of either flavor full size Dodge. It will haunt me to the end.

I am lucky to own two cars offering different seating choices: the buckets for driving faster, and a bench for times when that one special person is with me.

Could it be that the seat foam and/or springs were replaced? Fresh foam should make a noticeable difference in seating height.

I had an incorrect AMC bench that was worn out beyond what should be. My back hurts after ten minutes. I got the correct bench from a parts car, and I believe it is the correct height, my buckets sit lower in my '66 and '68 cars. It may have an inch extra height, but I don't believe it's much more than stock. I'll have to get a mint Monaco base model to compar with, hehe.

I'm too tall for a bench, not sure how that happened. I'm a bucket seat guy now

So, you agree a bench seat sits higher?

This bench seat has been reupholstered with a pad added. Compare the front seat cover to the rear.
The front seat springs may be shot.

It is a comfy place to sit. Even the stepson who wants the car (and said he wanted racing buckets in it ) agreed it would stay if he got the car. And I have a place to put my arm!
