I spotted this in a local wrecker. The special order and certified speedo caught my eye as did the zipper in the headliner. Radio delete too, just a 318 car and rusted out badly.

Police car or something else?

Certified speedo. Zippered headliner to facilitate installation of roof-mounted light. Additional dome light near the inside rear view mirror. Police vehicles could be ordered with Slant 6s and 318s, "for administrative use vehicles", rather than freeway service where power and speed could be important.

From my experience with MoPar Police cars, this is could be an RCMP Polara Pursuit/Patrol. It is rare and worth saving.

Is there a Broadcast sheet with RCMP or RCP or CP on the bottom of the sheet?

It's cool as a US built car for Canada Spec. Special Order, and Paint (I'm guessing for RCMP on colors)!

CO VON = Canada
Y07 = Canada Order
Y13 (?) Dealer Demo (not sure on that one)
X52 Dome Light reposition
F38 H/D suspension

If it were close to me, I would snap it up....not many RCMP cars exist from this era. It may be difficult to restore, but what isn't these days.

Go Canada !

I believe the slant six and small block V8s were called “patrol” while the big blocks were called “pursuit” in the factory literature.

I have seen the "certified" speedometer a bunch of times, but I can't say I've seen the zipper in the headliner before.

I grabbed the cluster for @71Polara383 The car was black and still is but has a very bad repaint with body filler falling out of the quarters.

I took the 489 case 8 3/4 with 2.73 gears as well its an open diff. The car is a 318 manual steering and brakes no A/C Blue interior

Its RUSTY. The rear subframe is gone the floors are gone. Looks like a tree fell on the roof and broke the back window out, the parcel tray is thick with green moss and the car has lichen all over it, its been in a field under trees for years somewhere. Honestly beyond saving.

I didn't see anything cool under the hood police wise but am no expert on these. It was a radio delete but it was hacked out and had a Hitachi AM radio installed in it.

Did you happen to get the fender tag or just a picture of it? there is a covered code that is intrequing.

No K in vin and no A38 on the fender tag means it's most likely a taxi or just a car somebody ordered for a business that needed an accurate speedometer. It has a roof light reinforcement so it may have holes in the roof for the light, the zipper could be a repair where they cut the headliner to patch the holes.

It has zippers front and rear definitely not a repair they are both very symmetrical. Also a visible patch under the zipper area looked like someone filled it a piece of wood.

I did notice holes and a ghost on the dash from what would have been a cb/mic clip but I didn't notice anything else. A taxi might make sense too though
