    Sounds more like the time delay for the defog system. If so, it only runs the compressor for a short time and basically not needed if it don't work. This?

    Yes it is a 56 dodge d500 pursuit. The 0wner bought it at surplus auction in 1968. It has a 325 hemi with push button automatic, the brakes are 12.5 x 2.5 with dual wheel cylinders

    Not sure how to document, that's why the request for information,. Yes it is all original with the 325 hemi, it has the spotlight in the A piller and police on the firewall in yellow, the owner also said they painted it after purchasing

    Yup, best to do all cleaning, polishing, grinding before putting the oil galley plugs back in and give it a final wash. A small slightly worn scotchbrite pad, wet with WD, works well for any last minute touch-ups though and won't distribute grit like grinding would. In the case of the lifter...

    if the pistons don't have valve reliefs your going be about 9.65 compression about right for iron heads. for alum heads that is going to be on the low side.

    IMHO, it would be worth pricing a new tank. Cost to have it professionally cleaned might exceed new. The real question is how dirty is your tank? Does it really need to be cleaned?
