    The Formal Photo Thread

I've wondered the same, my guess is they were just used up. The NYBs and Imperials were almost certainly garage kept and used sparingly and rarely out much in winter, while the Plymouths and Dodges were kept outside and driven year round. If you go to Hemmings there are generally more Cadillacs...

440 engine making a noise that sounds like an exhaust leak, but no leak is found

roll the rockers shut on #4. pull the plug, insert your compression gage hose and apply air pressure from your compressor. Listen for the escaping air. Find and fix, of coarse that may be easier said than done.

    1969 polara noisy engine fan

When you replace a clutch you will notice fan noise, but generally at low speed or idle. I should pretty much free wheel at highway speeds. The fan can't pull any more air than you're already forcing through the radiator at 60 mph.

Is the Australian market subject to the body changes that Canada had? The roof looks nothing like a car sold stateside that I've seen.

Where are all the fuselage brake calipers?

If you're not getting any fluid out of the caliper, loosen the hose at the other end. Hit the pedal, if you have fluid there you'll need to replace the hose. It appears to be blocked.

HELP on 1966 383ci Replacing the fuel pump

Yes, its in the tube. it can and often does drop to the bottom of its bore. As stated above, you can sometimes hold it up with your finger until you get the lever from the pump under it. Sometimes you have to remove the plug, pull the shaft, coat it with wheel bearing grease and shove it the...

Cam bearings. Please have a look

being freshly installed, i would like to see them all centered in the journal. As far as the hole alignment, it may just be the design of the bearing. All the holes look to be the same distance apart. Others may have a more knowledgeable answer. I can see your concern though.

So, where does the whole 1 of 1 or 1 of 13 info come from? If they didn't keep the figures how are we to believe, the Galen Govier reporting?

Motor Mounts and Transmission Mount - '78 New Yorker Brougham 4-Door with 440

try Anchor Industries. anchor-online.com They list your trans mount as an assembly, and the engine mounts but only the inserts. I don't know how your car is put together. I sold this brand at Advance Auto, had real good luck with them.

    1966 Polara Daytona

To each his own. We all have an idea about where a project is going when we start. I wonder how far off base he wound up at the end. Or did he stand back and yell "Nailed it"?

Posted a Video about my 73 New Yorker

I love it. I also highly doubt if anyone in another 40 years will be looking for their uncle's or dad's Kia Optima. These stories are drying up I'm afraid. Good find.

    1968 Dodge Monaco - 383 2bbl - exhaust manifold leak

I have seen manifolds just crack. Tends to happen on more modern cars, the iron isn't quite as thick as it used to be. Aero-kroil or Kroil oil is IMO the best for this. Spray it on, next day do it again. When you tackle it, nuts and bolts generally come right off.
